from someone not in Spanaway, in fact, I'm not even sure where Spanaway is; just some place I hear the name of in traffic reports and such, I'm guessing South of here near Fort Lewis somewhere ....

BYC is good for learning your Washington State geography, especially when someone posts about sunshine, and I have to google their towns to see if the sunshine may eventually make it up here.

I'm off to bed, determined to sleep more than 4 hrs tonight.

And don't forget next Saturday is Fuschia day at Fred Meyer. They used to be 50 cents apiece for 2" pots. Last year they were 5 for 3 dollah. And if you bring empty pots they will pot up to 5 or 6 pots with their potting soil for free if you show the receipt. If you go down a day or two in advance you can have a better choice of plants and they will still pot them up on Saturday. It's usually cold and the wait is a long line, but still free soil. Then, it's for sure better if you can hang them in a green house. They also have geraniums for the same price. I at least go down to get the cheap fushcias but don't brave the lines and cold. I love having my porch filled with fuschias and have one flower bed full of geraniums. Sure gonna have to pen up the free ranging ladies pretty soon. or no nice garden for me.

You are a gardener after my own heart. I love the sale. I mostly do geraniums these days. I bought some very large ceramic pots for the patio this year. I got in trouble for that, but at 40.00 each they were like half price.

hey do you day rent ducks?? lol I will be overwhelmed with slugs here shortly, I wanna rent some ducks for a day to go from one end to the other and eat all the slugs

think it would work?

Nooo... the neighboring slugs will hurry right in to take the places vacated by the departed slimies... gonna hafta get your own duckers. Once upon a time, I had one little white duck named Quark. She had a routine and schedule and she wandered all over 2+ acres every day. I didn't have any slugs, not ever for 2 years after she died because she ate all the eggs even.
