Ok one last time of posting this. I have dubbed this little one "Lil Roo II" Now can someone please tell me if indeed this is a cockeral. Im guessing he is a he, because he is the only one with dark feathers coming in.

None of the other chicks have any dark feathering across the back and in the wings. So Im making a newby guess and saying its a cockeral. he is also the most in your face, out of the bunch, so he is spending LOTS of time on my shoulder, or in my hand. As he will be needing a new home, and I will be needing a not related Wheaton or Blue Wheaton cockeral to go with my girls.

Tell me what you all think please? Am I right or am I wrong?

Good morning all, kinda late but I have been sooo busy, culled a few started birds, put the rest in the big girl coop, the previous started pullet & cockeral decided to pick on the new babies so I yanked them out & they are now in solitary confinement until they decided to play nice.
had to change the new babies water to add Corid since they are now in the big girl's coop.
Then cleaned that brooder pen & moved the middle (2 week old) babies over, did feed & water, cleaned their old brooder & added the new 5 days old babies to that brooder, did food & water and all are clean & happy now.
Dumped old shavings, put new in, cleaned the new baby brooder (there is 4 brooder pens) and it is sterilized & awaiting new babies pipping now, more Buckeye & a horde of OEs and Blue Ameraucanas..................

Transferred rain water from the 55 G barrels to the bigger tanks up the hill that gravity feed down here to the cabin.
Washed all the used baby feeders & water fonts...........

Did a load of laundry...
I collected, washed eggs & called some customers to pick them up and as soon as they do I can close the gate & take a much needed shower.
Right now I am going to eat before I pass out..
DH is at his Dad's now.
Things are calming down, they are eating and getting back to the routine that was lost a week ago..
MiL will be cremated & no memorial, no circus, he wants no family.
Donations to any memorial to go to the Lake County SPCA is what I suggested he do as MiL loved the critters & strays.
A better bang for the buck than sending flowers & cards as far as I am concerned.
My parents may drive down there to sit & reminisce with DH's Dad as they are such old old frinds and go back to grade school together.
I may just stay here as there will be no funeral.
I will be here, and we all are doing better.

I hope everyone else is doing better.
Gotta go eat before I pass out~~

Vegetable starts: kale, collards, lettuces, japanese egg plants? , Giant 1500lb pumpkins, tomatoes, peas beans cukes, are all for sale, but realistically, only base ball sized zukes, lettuces & peas do well in my area, but a girl can dream.
Petunias
Pansies
lupines
fuchias
basils
tomatoes
day lilies

Just take a walk at Flower World or Molbaks. You'll see the plantaholics carts loaded with stuff.

Sky Nursery and Swanson's are closer. The problem here is lack of heat. Cool weather vegetables do wonderfully. Warm weather vegetables can be iffy. Look for the ones with the shortest number of days to maturity. They are likely to do best.

Pretty much any seed fom IRISH EYES SEEDS will mature here.

Speak of the devil! The bald eagle was in the yard again today. It took me a while after it was gone to get the girls to come out from under the deck and into the tractor.

Nooo... the neighboring slugs will hurry right in to take the places vacated by the departed slimies... gonna hafta get your own duckers. Once upon a time, I had one little white duck named Quark. She had a routine and schedule and she wandered all over 2+ acres every day. I didn't have any slugs, not ever for 2 years after she died because she ate all the eggs even.

no way...I will make the neighbor come and get them and confine them like they should be...irresponsible slug owners
