lol I understand completely! Ive been with my DH for 6 years married for almost 4. He does mean well, so I keep my mouth shut 90% of the time. lol But it will always baffle me as to why he even bothers to ask, and then when Im not even done speaking he does the oposite! lol

Little goober that he is, I love him dearly. Couldn't emagine my life without him. Even though he is a major pain in the rear. lol

DH and I celebrated our 17th anniversary yesterday...long time to be picking up someone else's socks and fighting over the remote with. I totally believe the saying "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus". I no longer complain about how he washes dishes or how he loads the dishwasher...I am just thankful he has done it. Gotta love him, if I didn't who would love me...and I ain't easy to get along with. I kinda feel sory for the guy.

Course we knonwn each other all our lives.........dating in High School even...

Thanks Rustic...it is all over now.
Dh is taking his Dad over the pass (St Helena) to Santa Rosa today to sign paperwork to release the body to the mortuary for the Cremation.
They will get to that Wenesday he thinks, then go back & collect the urn.
They want no circus, not visiting, no memorial or flowers, etc.
I metioned to have DH ask FiL if people can make donations in her name to the SPCA as she loved the critters, and homeless animals.
So he may get around to calling the SPCA in town there & setting up a memorial fund.
Much better use of money than sending flowers if you ask me (no offense JB!!!!)
Homeless animals need food, shelter & spay/nueter and she would have likes that.
More Buckeye pipping, 3 out, 2 zipping..such cute little red chicks!

As of yet, I have black, black & yellow, black & white/blue/silver/white & black/wheaten and yellow, so new babies will be easy to spot !

Tam is going to have to swim to her driveway in Duval.......and I will not be coming up that way for about a month, but still saving the babies for you.

Toni MUST tell us the La Har Drill story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and good luck hatching..little giants are really sensitive to drafts.
I put a blue cheese crumbles cup under the fan DH installed in the roof of mine, it is a computer fan & works great !
I still hate the digital works in the little giant, so super sensitive that I use a digital meat prob in it as it can zoom to super high temps in a herat best..and I set the mest prob alarm to go off at 101, and it does I run in and see the dang thing up to 103 !!!!!
It has such a touchy knob too, just thinking about turning it up or down & it zoomz way way over the desired temp.
Good luck and I have the booklet for the dang thing

hopefully it does not die, and starts when I need it to, and no pinkies fly out of the defroster.

Ok for starters, last year my daughter and I built an incubator out of a styrofoam cooler. We were told it would not work. The biggest struggle was keeping the temperature consistent. But 19 to21 days later we were rewarded with 7 out of the 10 eggs we started with hatching. They are a Black Copper Maran and Americana x. We had gotten the eggs from Zgoatlady.

The last one to hatch was having a very hard time and had worn herself out. The membranes inside the egg had started to dry out and harden. I figured that if she (it) stayed in the egg, she would die, if I carefully helped her by removing the remaining membrane and shell around the egg, but leaving the top of the egg on, that she might have a chance at living. I sat up until 2 a.m. helping this little chick. The next morning when I woke up I found the homeliest looking little chick who was still to weak to stand. She looked terrible for several days, her feathers all stuck to her body and poor balance. That homely little chick who nearly did not make it has turned into a beautiful and sweet hen. She was named Luna because I had sat up half the night with her.

About a month ago this beautiful slate grey lady decided to become broody so off I went and bought her a dozen eggs from a couple in Auburn.
Well after 3 weeks of being a very patient and dedicated mama, our Luna has been rewarded with 12 little chicks. The breeder only had 10 Barnevelder eggs, so they threw in 2 Production Red and Black Austrolorp x eggs. I think we have got possibly 7 or 8 barnevelder females and 2 or 3 males and of course we are not sure about the other two eggs, one is buff and the other takes after daddy and is solid black.
I have uploaded photos onto the website but can't figure out how to get to them, any suggestions?

RFF: They have cornish X at the Feedstore. Where else can we order them from? Do you have a source? Just thought I would let you know. Taking DD to pick out 3 chicks to stick under the broody momma.
