They HAVE to offer you COBRA insurance, it's the law. And they HAVE to make it retro-active to when they dropped you. What a bunch of applesauce!!!

Even if the COBRA is $500 a month (don't know how much it IS, but I know it's spendy) it's still cheaper than all the medical bills you'll be seeing....

What kind of Chickens are you looking for meat or eggs, or if you have kids 4-H. How much room do you have for them is also a good question..
This is a great thread and we can all help you out. We also have lots of birds to choose from on this thread..

congrats on the plans...hope it will go smoothly now for you.

BTW: There are lots of kids with boxes - outside Safeways and Wal*Marts- here in the Okanogan County. Largest County in the state and there is not one Government funded animal rescue or shelter. It is all done my volunteers and donations - 100%. It is awful some of the things I have seen. They rescued 22 cats from a woman who was living in her car - WITH THE CATS IN THE CAR. That was a mess.

How can they do that? Is it becasue you havent been to work in awhile? When my son was out of work he had paper work done for diability ( sorry we all know I cant spell) so he still got paid and has insurance. What has the union said about this? Im so sorry..

Silly question from someone who lives in their backyard, but I can't find the # for Patriot Farms in Winlock. Anybody have that handy? Thanks.
Also, the big girls are 5 weeks old and outside now. They won't lay for quite sometime so what should I be feeding them? They are still eating the chick starter but get food treats from the house too. Should they be eating something other than chick starter? Thanks
