Gorgeous Roo! I wonder if that is what mine will look like when he grows up? How noisy is he and does he crow often? Neighbor with 4 dogs that run loose keeps reminding me that she does not want to hear any roosters. I told her if her dogs weren't loose, I'd have no need for roosters to protect my flock (of course I'd still need them for more chicks, but she doesn't need to know that part.)

Can you have roosters where you live? I know the neighbor when I got the goats said oh they arent staying are they? The next year when we had two more she said that goats are supose to be afraid of something so they taped it on the internet and it didnt seem to scare them. I know have lots of blackberry bush's so she cant see them. And yes I live on the out skirts of Enumclaw we can have all the animals. What she didnt know is I worked with the King County Conv. and know what I can have and not have. I told her one day that I can have over 30 goats here. She didnt say much after that. You know when you move to the country its the country.

LOL! This neighbor is usually pretty nice,I don't know why she is so concerned about roosters! If she makes a stink about the roosters, I'm pretty sure it won't hold up. If I make a stink about her dogs, the CC&R's are very explicit that they need to be either on the owners property or on a leash.

I'm on 3.5 acres, smallest lot in the neighborhood. We can have cows if they are for our own use, that is specifically stated in the rules. I read the CC&R's, and there is no rule against roosters, and it does say livestock are permitted. I think because of the location and the views, our neighborhood is full of wealthy retired young people with way too much time on their hands and instead of making themselves useful and by volunteering their efforts to a worthy cause, some like nothing better than causing trouble for their neighbors - thankfully this gal is neither wealthy nore retired, and she is usually pretty nice. (The homes here vary from small cookie cutter to palatial). There is one jerk in the neighborhood who hired someone to go up in a helicopter to take photos of everyones lots and then reported to the HOA board all the landscaping and structures that did not get clearance from the architechtural review committee and he threatened to take ua all to court! My driveway comes within 18' of my property line. According to the CC&R's it is supposed to be no closer than 40' from any neighbor. Due to the bow-tie shape of our lot, we could not get it any further from the property line. Where we border a public steet and where we border a 45 acre greenbelt, I got county permission, and had the HOA issue a variance. My neighbor is on 10 acres, and his house sits way back. The greenbelt ends at a narrow point between us where my driveway gets too close. I did not bother clearing it with him. My neighbor is nice. He does not care. The jerk (my husband's former boss!!!!) still threatened to sue, even though it was not his property that was being impacted! So I had my neighbor write a letter that he has no issue with the placement of our driveaway, took the letter to a lawyer, and submitted it to the committee. The jerks neighbor also had a driveway that was too close (A nice couple from NY who raised chickens on their property ... and they had roos too!). I'm sure the jerk would have sued about the roos had he found any way to declare them against the rules. He did sue them for their driveway, and they had to rip it out and install it on the other side of their property (and they had a cement driveway with the house at the back of a 20 acre lot!). I think I'm safe about the roos.

Yeah--I think next time (IF there is another baby)--I will opt out of all of those genetic & DS tests. I would still have the baby either way but the stress of worrying and worrying and worrying is too overwhelming. I just cry all the time, I can't eat, can't sleep....sad

Please try and decide to love the baby you have, her head size is good, all features good, and trust your doctor when she says all is well.
Try to focus on having A BABY and please try not to worry.
I never worried...life is too complicated now.
I still do not think they should ever tell you what sex you have.
Please try to relax and don't worry & cry, things like that the baby can hear.
Stress is never a good thing!hugs

Amen

29 and they said that? I think I would have slugged anytone who said that to me! I was 34, and they wrote it in prominant lettering across the top of my chart! I bled throughout most of the first trimester and was simply told "well, you are at that age when most women will experience a miscarriage." I lied to get in to maternal fetal medicine for a better ultrasound and that is when all the problems were discovered. (Placenta previa was causing the bleeding, not my age!) My grandmother was 45 when my dad was born. I was just a spring chicken comparatively!

I had Placenta Previa thats why my DS was born so early. When I was at the hospital having him a stupid nurse said oh honey your having this baby and its going to be dead when its born..

I told her to shut up and get out, He's now 20 and give me H--- with his girlfriend....

I'm so happy everything worked out. Where do they find some of these nurses?!!!!

When I was in labor with DS (32 hours) and he got stuck and in distress after 3.5 hours of pushing, my doc said we needed to do a C-section ASAP. When he walked out of the room, my delivery nurse lectured me (I have it on tape), that the doc is tired and cranky, and the C-section it totally unnecessary, and will put the baby at risk. She said I needed to keep pushing (I had NO strength left and was tremoring uncontrollably from exhaustion), and if I couldn't get him out, they should break my pubic bone, "Like they did in Ireland - you can still see old women walk oddly there today because they used to just take a sledge-hammer and break the bones if the baby did not fit. That is what you need, to have someone break these bones for you!" I think she was living in the wrong century!

You have a right to be Negative. I wish there was something we all could do for you... Im so sorry.

Agreed. I feel so upset about all the applesauce you are going through with your employer on top of the applesauce with your health. We are here if you need to blow off steam, I just wish I could go shake some sense and humanity into whoever the applesauce-head is who pulled your insurance!

People were never meant to live so close together.
The closer they live together, the more vilence and upset is incurred.
Cramming people together (such as an apartment complex) is both wrong and unstable, as violence will happen..and none of them can sustain their own existence..it reminds me of the matrix movie, where people just keep breeding and consuming from tubes fed into them..an ugly thought and an uglier reality.
If you can't feed yourself, or sustain your own existence, then you are nothing but a dependent on society...user friendly and no where to go.

Humans have territories as all animals do...
