Jen: ARe these your Seramas? Are they bantam? I read where 5 of their eggs = 1 AA egg. Are they truly that tiny? Tell me about them. I read that they are not really compatible with cold....hence, are they doable in my area? I am afraid it is too cold for them here.

Polyfoam egg shippers! Not cheap but I sell and have 100 percent safe eggs to this point. I scored and bought 5 pallets of polyfoam and make my own and they fit boxes perfect and I can make holes for goose, serama and everything else. I have sold with bubble wrAp and double boxed and never issues either. Good luck!

So, what exactly is Phoenix? I am still learning my birds. He is so pretty.

He's a Chantecler, a very rare breed.

Oh and

everyone. I've been away from the computer, the farm even, almost all day today. I FINALLY purchased myself two Gold Laced Polish who are currently laying, so that will add to my Tolbunt breeding ASAP and I am SOOOO EXCITED!!

Oh, and I now have a brand new, completely private and separate pen for my poor rooster-pecked, beaten, submissive, yet still super friendly Buff Ameraucana cockerel. He's already enjoying his place quite a bit. His own coop, food, water, and just plain space all to his own. Plus it's not muddy like 1/3 of the Bachelor Pad. Ugh. Mud.

Hi fellow Washingtonians, sorry for the intrusion, but I am wanting to see if any of you would be willing to help us replace a chicken that we just lost to a coyote attack. We have a small backyard flock of 4, and my 10 yo daughter would like an Easter Egger pullet as a replacement for Squirrel, the Welsummer she named that was killed:(. She was actively engaged in taking care of the chickens, so she is quite sad about losing Squirrel. It was a daytime attack in the middle of suburbia and I was literally 50-75 yards away around the corner of the yard! I saw Chickmunk, the other Welsummer, running towards me with an alarm call, ran up and saw a coyote running down the driveway. They have a secure coop and run, but I was in the yard, so they were free-ranging, but were just out of my direct line of sight. I guess we won't make that mistake again!

Our other 4 chickens are 20 weeks old so we would like a pullet the same age range so integration might be easier. We also have a budget of $20, but would be willing to drive up to 2 hours from the Seattle area if we need to. I checked Craigslist, and most of them offer chicks, and we don't want to raise a single chick as it might get lonely while growing up.

Any suggestions, or chicken lover you can point me to would be most appreciated! Thank you in advance!

I so love these birds. Maybe some day I can buy some eggs from you. I love the big "fluffy" birds. I also love their personality.
