About the Venue:

Each September, the Puyallup Fairgrounds is home to the Puyallup Fair, which is the state of Washington’s largest single attraction and routinely in the top 10 attended fairs in the country. Located 35 miles south of Seattle and 10 miles east of Tacoma, the fairgrounds are nestled in the shadow of Mount Rainier.



In June, the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR will come to the state-of-the-art Americraft ShowPlex facility with additional demonstrations held in the nearby outdoor, arena and barn complexes located within the fairgrounds.

Parking, Box Office and Entrance
Guest may park for FREE at the Blue Gate Parking Lot and enter at the Blue Gate where the Box Office for the Fair is located.
The Blue Gate is located off of Meridian Street South just off Highway 512 exit.



Event Hours
Arrive early, as lines form quickly. For your convenience the Box Office opens at 8:30 a.m.
Saturday event hours: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sunday event hours: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday Morning Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

First Aid

Lost and Found

Babies and Infants
Facilities for both men and women to change their children's diapers are available in the restrooms at the Blue Gates.



Smoking and Other Policies
In compliance with Washington Initiative 901, smoking is not allowed in public buildings, or within 25 feet of building entrances, exits, ventilation intakes and windows that open. To make your visit to the Puyallup Fair an enjoyable experience, we appreciate your compliance with our policies noted below.

ADA
The Puyallup Fair strives to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations. Questions or requests for accommodations available to persons with disabilities should be directed to the ADA coordinator at the Fair, (253) 841-5073.



Cash Machines
Several cash machines provided by Columbia Bank are mobility aid-accessible. They are located inside the Blue Gates and other handy spots. See the map in the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR program guide provided onsite for locations.



Staying Hydrated
Reduce your footprint and keep hydrated by bringing your own water bottle or canteen. Guests can find accessible drinking fountains throughout the Puyallup Fairgrounds.



First Aid
A first aid facility is located between the Gold and Blue Gates. It is staffed by American Medical Response.



Service Animals
Service animals are welcome throughout the Fairgrounds. No other animals are permitted on the Fairgrounds other than exhibit animals.

Directions to Puyallup Fair
From Olympia and the South
1. Take Interstate 5 North to Highway 512, Exit 127.
2. Follow Highway 512 east for 8 miles to the exit marked Ninth St. SW / 94th Ave. E.
3. Turn left over the freeway (onto Ninth St. SW) and go down the hill for 1.4 miles.
4. Fair Parking Lots are on the right side of Fairview Drive SW.



From North or South Bound I-5 in Tacoma
1. Take Exit 135 to Puyallup.
2. Follow the signs to Puyallup.
3. At the first stop light you can turn right to Pioneer Way East; or continue to the left on River
Road.
Pioneer Way route: Travel 5.2 miles to 72nd St. E.
1. Turn left to stay on Pioneer Way E.
2. Continue 1.9 miles to Puyallup's Fifth St. SW.
3. Turn right to Fifth St. SW and follow the signs to Fair Parking Lots.
River Road route: Travel 4.2 miles to Puyallup's 18th St. NW.

That is so cool. Hope you do well there at the chicken show. I have been looking for the perfect place here to put it.

By the way I love reading all the stories of the the chickens. Yes, they are little muchers. They think that just because they are so cute, they can get away with anything.

We have a little bantam name Morgan and she always comes running up to DH and just watches him, then when hes not looking she flys up on his shoulder to get her treat. Why should she be on the ground scrounging with the other girls when she can be hand fed? Sheeshhhhhhh Its ok but once in a while she ends up on DH head

On getting chickens, have you thought of bringing your DD to the chicken show in Stevenson? There will be lots of chickens there & lots of BYC folks there too. You'll end up with a good one...or six.

HI GUYS! Been busy with patients needing fresh seafood counseling...LOL
Also have lots of tilling to do in the garden..and when DH gets home Monday night we will have Blue Ducklings' awesome curry...she actually sent all the stuff to me (SURPRISE!) in a priority mail box that weighed a ton...like 8 cans and rice noodles and a seed catalong and 2 boxes peas paneer...heavy.
My postal workers were nervous with the box sitting there all day..they thought it was eggs

It weighs about 15 pounds...what kind of eggs would weigh so much ?

ALSO: I connected with a guy in NorCal (Sacramento) who will round up & take all FiL's chickens & 5 emus...so, he has said thanks and if I ever needed any eggs to just say the word..here is his list:
Geese:: Chinas
Africans
Americans (all not specified)

Ducks:
Grey runners
East Indies
Cayugas
Blue,Black & chocolate muscovies
and bantam cubalaya in progress (ooh!)

So, I have this favour coming, if anyone is interested in any, let me know & I will ask him.
I also intend to entice him with the black, chocolate & silver runners T and Blue Ducklings have here, OK ?????
Exciting...now I will have to catch up over the course of the next 3 days............

And completely muck out a coop of two to do a final till in my garden getting it ready for planting & will get the green house plastic up in a day or two...
then it is showtime!!!

NEVER put another rabbit, male or female, in the doe's cage, she will fight & kill any other rabbit in her "territory".
Rabbits are not social creatures, and they hate each other.
I recommend seperate cages for each rabbit you keep.
And a plywood partition between close cages so the doe cannot even see the bucks.
Once of mating age, fighting will start if they are in the same pen.
Don't know what else to tell you, other than that, there are great rabbit raising web sites...

She rides in the car talking away and looking out the window at everything like a lap dog........Toni said truck driver do a double take.....

The sun left again! So not cool. I want warmer weather, had to cover my blueberry bushes that DD and I planted yesterday.

But I did get my raised bed weeded out and 75% ready to plant! Peas and beans in the raised bed this year! So gotta figure out a climbing wall/fence/trellis for them... lol I think my garden is going to be a bit smaller this year. No pumpkins, very few tomatos, basically a small herb patch, beans, peas, cucumber, zukini, and the berry patch! Raspberries are doing great, and have LOTS of new growth already!
