Hey there well i have been on for a bit but haven't added my craziness to this thread. So i live in Rochester with my husband 4 dogs Louie Angie Reba and Bubba the potbelly pig Clancy Two turkeys till next week when they go to the swap, 5 ducklings and a whole lotta chickens plus 24 Americana eggs in the incubator.
I started out with chickens a couple years ago those dang poultry auctions are a really bad place to go. Right now i have americanas, bantam cochins,a jersy giant,a gold wyndote. this years babies include cukoo marans, barnavilders, standard cochins in lots of colors, more americans and a mix batch of not sure whats that came from a cackle surprise package.
I am making a fun filled trip down to canby next weekends to do some baby swapping. I wasn't able to make the show due to a time consuming thing called work.
I need to find out when the next show is so i can meet up with all the fun Washington chickens addicts.

Reminds me of that Far Side cartoon that shows the farmer's wife going into the coop to collect eggs and in the next frame the chicken is coming out of the farm house with her baby under it's wing! Sooo twistedly funny!

@Hallerlake

You should check out the emergency/illness sub-forum (CPS thread). Surely that would justify/explain/confuse/make-you-laugh at baby swapping vs. chick swapping.

(I'm in the process of "re-homing" all my vacuums before I engage in baby swapping.

Was that Lisabeula on Vashon?

Yep it is on the West side of the island, directly across the sound from the only store in Olalla.

I lived in Lisabeula for a few months when i lived on Vashon. the old Norwegian couple were so good to me and my kids when we were "between homes" in the old hippy days. Used to picnic there all during the 16 years I spent on the Island. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't move back "home". Miss the water. Spent most of my life either on the water or in sight of it.
Oh well, now I have lots of trees and a beaver pond. not bad

So I think we should do this, there is also a place in Enumclaw.
So we need to start planning.

I am hoping to make the date for the get together May 14th. This way eenie will be in town. She is supposed to arrive back in Washington on the 10th of May. Will this work for everyone? We could plan for lunch maybe. Bonney Lake is fairly simple and central for everyone.
