I am getting some Seramas from Jbear for my DD to play with/show. I am hoping that she will join 4-H with them and do some showing. I am excited to get them. I will need to do some talking with you some time. Went to Wenatchee today...it was so warm there compared to Omak. Very nice. Hope you had fun in Stevenson.

Here's my roo I just got from jbear this weekend:

He is beautiful! That Jbear grows some pretty little birds...

He is gorgeous....just what DD is wanting...she is not knowing type for show...she just knows what she likes.

And he defends the universe, too!

Yes he does!!! LOL DS's canary is named Zoron, so now with Voltron too, I told DS they sound like extra-terrestrial warlords, and he said "We are forever your humble servants, oh wise ones!"

Yes, Rob saved my phone's life! It was a very bad little phone for spending the night at Olive Garden w/o permission! I'm just thankful I had a buddy in the area who was comin' my way so I didn't have to drive 2 hrs to retrieve the wayward phone. You ROCK Rob, thanks again!!!

Atually, I found these on CL Spokane. And come to find out the person I got them from shows Silkies! She's the one that told me all about the Poultry show in Stevenson and invited me down,( can't go have prior commitment). But, as you can tell, I started out with a pair and now have three hens and a drake! I'm just learning about Muscovy's but, from what I can tell they are very nice! I'll post some pics on here in the next day or so. I'll be selling ducklings and hatching eggs as soon as I can figure out what I'm doing!

I think you are talking about the lady I show with, Calesta. She has some very nice birds- silkies, cochins, muscovies. She brought me a couple of scovies to join my Dewlap Incubation Team (currently consisting of a couple standard cochins and some Sebastopol geese who were being persistently broody). She's very sweet- she's also running a really cool garden business in Newman Lake selling heritage vegetable starts by the boxful.

I find all of this to be very ironic, especially since Tacoma Public Utilities has been offering free workshops on sustainability including "Backyard Chickens" along with soil prep, starting seeds, composting, worm bins, etc. So at the same time chickens for Pierce County residents is being encouraged, they are DIS-couraging them by including them in the limited number of animals we can keep on our property.

I SURVIVED THE CHICKIE SURGERY!!!! I thought I was not going to be able to do it but I did!!! The chick didn't even make a peep. I'm so glad it didn't cause I might a of passed out! Anyway it's over and we both made it out alive!
