If you were in the country Id say a pig. They are great at geting them.

THANK YOU Somebody finally agrees with what I have been telling people. Goats will eat BB shoots and some of the cane. Pigs will eat it all including the roots and then you have a nice fertilized and tilled area for garden.

they sure do...

Thank you SadiSue for getting my eggs. I need to come back and try some of your wine after my Pm route.
So you need to ask everyone about what we talked about... Its a GREAT IDEA...

YUP She is still trying to hatch air. I gave DW a welding glove to use when checking for eggs. Yes meaner than a peach orchard boar !!!! Watch out fer them crows !

Pitch her off the nest with a stick, like gently pry her off....after a few times dumped out she should "wake up and smell the coffee"

Yeah, but then you have to deal with a pig.

I'm anti-pig: my BIL has a few sows, and they take up more time and energy than all whoever-knows-how many cows, calves, bulls, feeders and replacement heifers combined. Also they smell. And are even harder to keep fenced than goats. If other people can deal with them, fine, go ahead, but remember, it takes longer to get rid of blackberries than a pig stays chewable, so expect to eat a lot of sausage when the blackberries are done.

(It is possible I may feel about pigs a bit the way Blue Ducky feels about chickens).

And here is my free EASY solution to wasting feed. I took a strip 2x4 welded wire bent it to fit, drilled holes in the side of the feeder and stuck the ends of th ewire through the holes then bent it down. All of the cut ends are postioned so the chickens can't get cut /scratched on em. Seems to be working well.

And this shows the wires bent over on the inside of the feeder.
