Do ya think it to be Bantam? She's only about 2 lbs if that.

That's what I was going to say. She looks like the pic of what my Sicilian Buttercup is supposed to look like and shes about 4-5 weeks (so aptly named Spot) I will see about posting pics soon... Beauties they are. I don't think they are bantams though (I thought). How old is she?

Recovering from some horrible chicken drama - was our all day in the yard with the hens and the dogs. Everyone got along fine. Took some nice photos. 7:15, the chickens are still wandering the yard DD said she will round them up and close them in for the night. It took her about 2 minutes, and since when I last looked, I saw chickens everywhere garden, orchard, lawn, forest.... I asked if she got them all and counted them. "Yes I did!" So I left the dogs out in the yard and walked away to find DS to help move some patio furniture. 10 min later I hear horrible squaking, Shasta is chasing the RIR through the woods, and Willow has Chirp, my New Hampshire, in her mouth, feathers everywhere! Willow let go of Chirp when she saw me, Chirp tore across the yard and hi under a crate. I caught her, bathed her and dried her. She wqas very calm (or more likely in shock!) She is not interested in food, missing a lot of feathers from her shoulder, I found 4 wounds (small puncture on neck and back, 2 peeled skin areas, not deep and maybe 1/2 inch across - yellow fat exposed. None were bleeding, but I covered all with neosporin. I gave her yogurt and bread, but she was not interested in either. She is now in the coop storeage room in an isolation cage filled with Alfalfa bedding and food and water. She is still just standing there, though she was at least now turned her tail feathers down like they do when they sleep on a roost and she closed her eyes, but opens them wide the minute she hears anything.

Poor hen! I hope she does not have internal injuries! darn Dog.... and I thought they were so good! They were all hinging out together all day long without a single incident, even following each other around. The minute I leave them alone and they change! darn dogs! By the feather trail, looks like the birds ran to their pen door to go in, and found it closed, then were chased by the dogs. It all happened so quick!

Welcome! Don't let today's unchattiness fool you...lots of people are outside. When they get back in this thread is gonna start flyin'!!!

Cheryl- the BW AM is such a cutie! I just mapped where you are.... holy cow you're up there aren't ya! Gonna have to work out how to get her down here. And how much I need to pay ya!

Nah! Its you thats so far south! lol We will figure out something. Pm me and we will figure it out.

On a lighter note, I learned some more chicken math today:

11 Hens + 4 freshly planted celery plants = No celery plants

11 Hens + 25 freshly planted strawberry starts = 25 srawberry starts, but good luck finding them! (some burrried, others dug up and tossed aside)

I know nothing about bantams, but read that LG Sicilian Buttercups are about 4 lbs when grown. So maybe you do have a banty SB.
BTW- the cat is now laying in the brooder, the chicks are unconcerned.
