If it has yellow skin, I'd say it is a Cochin. Not a mix though, Sheryl doesn't make mistakes like that...

Nope no sickness before my liver shut down. But I did travle through 11 states on my way home from Florida. "24 states in total during that move, and then back home again." Maby I came in contact with something nasty when passing through one of the states. We did stop in Oklahoma and stayed a few days in Arizona... We passed through most of the states without spending much more than travle time in them...

valley fever......its in the dirt

oh hec!! ripped out two teeth?? they were probably sore for a while and now that they are healed up maybe she will chew up her food and put some weight back on for you. its frustrating trying to figure out why they wont put weight on when you do everything you can think of, I feed alfalfa, grass hay has never put enough weight on when I fed it, but I have a mare that drops her topline no matter how much I feed her, but give her grass hay all winter on a pasture...it fills right in. *sigh*

I switched Prada and Lacy to Timothy about 2 months ago now I think... Teagan gets fat on air so he still gets grass hay. Little pig that he is. lol

Yeah Prada ripped out the front rear teeth. She freaked out when my sister loaded Lacy into the trailor for a trail ride. She grabbed ahold of my 6' no climb fencing, braced all four legs and pulled back like a dog would when playing tug o' war. She ripped the right tooth out herself, I had to extract the second tooth with pliers myself...

My sister about passed out, my cousin was so stressed she got a bloody nose, and I about puked when I pulled the tooth...

Dr. Hill "my Vet" prescribed antibiotics for 10 days, bute for 3, and twice daily rinsing for the 10 days of meds... THAT was fun. NOT! I was the only person that Prada would let touch her mouth. she's such a big mammas girl. lol She's all healed up, just gotta have some exrays done in a few weeks to make sure there are no fragments. The equine dentist looked at her mouth and said that he couldnt have done a better extraction himself!

most ponies are easy keepers. my mini mule gets orchard grass...diet hay for him lol. tubby. good job on the tooth pulling. sometimes you wonder about them and the things they do. I would bet she was not chewing her food well with a sore mouth. she will probably spring right back soon!

I was going to say to check it's foot color. Cochins have yellow, or should be yellow. I have pics of my 7 wk old blue/black cochins, from Sheryl's birds. I will upload in a bit. You should be able to tell if it is a cochin, they look like little fluffy bowling balls already. Marans have a much leaner, tighter plumage and body shape.

RedReiner! I'm currently downloading pics. We are so thrilled with our Serama's! I was expecting all dark chicks, and we have quite the variety! Can't wait to show you!!!

She did quid her hay the night after she ripped those two teeth out. But she has been eating like a pig sence then. lol Prada and Lacy get 2-3 hours of grazing a day over in my moms field. Teagan has to sit in my pasture and watch. If he eats fresh grass for more that 45 minutes he starts to collic. So... For his best interest, and to his dismay. He gets to watch the two mares eat until they are content. Poor fat little pony.

I really don't want to kill their dog or any dog. And I talked to the Sheriff that was parked on my road, and he said that this is a no shooting area unless of course you are afraid for your life. I am going to keep my metal bat handy and my paintball gun laoded. And every time I will file a report with Animal Control. He said I have every right to protect my animals without discharging a gun in this area. SO, with that said, I put my hen in the coop with the others and they didn't pick at her and she went right up and into a nesting box. So I guess she is going to be ok. Amazing!
