Hi fellow Washingtonians!

I'm in Port Townsend and have only two chickens.
I am pretty new to all of this and am learning as I go.
One of my girls have been lethargic and has poop all over her tail feathers.
I am going to gently wash her off tonight after work but I am worried about her and need help.
Any advice or basic steps on how to clean her off? How to hold her? Any other tips, suggestions or tricks?

Thanks so much!
Nicole

From where you are...you are going to hit alot of the state in one day...wowsie. You are SE...I am NE...You are going from one WA border to the opposite other, then you will be heading west and hitting the other side. Visiting me you will only be 50 miles from the Canadian border. And thank you for being so nice. I do hope you are not doing all of it in a day....I will worry.

Yea, no problem, BF is a truck driver and I love to drive, he of course has it all planned out, we actually didn't know how far up Omak was, I had only heard about it as a kid, I used to rodeo so EVERYONE here had heard of the Suicide race! I used to have friends that rode in it, but, I didn't actually go. I'm looking forward to it, it will definitely challenge our togetherness!! lol

Just kidding, Terry is a great guy and puts up with a lot and does a lot, he may complain about my chickens a little ( he wants to see the money) LOL but, he's the one that jumps out there and starts digging fence posts and tells me what kind of fence he's gonna build, so, he likes being needed. Anyway, it be ok!!

GAH: 4312, I missed that you asked a question!

13 cows and ten calves vaccinated and wormed, and Eprinex acquired; my sister (two years younger than me: just turned 57) tripped over a mole hill while she was running across the slope of the hill, fell onto her arm, and may have re-busted a rib; she took some Ibuprofen and vaccinated and all but was going home to take her heavy duty painkillers.

Valbizen has changed the shape of the tube on their drench-wormer, and it's harder to get the stuff far enough back in the cows mouths to keep them from spitting most of it out. We had to put halters on some of the cows to even get the tube in their mouths: the stuff must taste terrible because they resist it more every year. I was putting a halter on one of the cows and got whacked across the cheekbone, which was also no fun. All in all a less annoying day than working cattle down at her house was, though; it took as long to get the cattle into the corral there as it did to do the whole job here.

Tomorrow, the new bull. Bulls: the baby down in the garden pen at my sister's house, and the two-year-old I'm leasing for the summer here. Which means tomorrow morning I need to go put the eight-foot-chunk of livestock panel in the squishy bit of the fence and get the other three panels into final position: my son helped me get them into rough place but they're mostly stuck on with bungee cords and hope. He also dragged the random piece of plywood down off the hill where someone had built a skate-board or snow-board ramp.

I'm sitting here with one new shoe and one beat-up Justin lace-up roper on, the new shoes (thanks to Amazon and UPS) fit fine but I don't have the will power to untie the second pair of boots. This will, however, interfere with getting up and getting dinner started. What to do, what to do?

I love Port Townsend, and haven't gotten there in ages. Such a pretty place, and the best birdwatching in the state.

Ok peeps need some help...
today at 2pm ish one of my neighbors I try to do chores for... 92 year old Alice was setting up signs for a small yard sale. She was absent minded and left her walker with the sign and went inside to get something. When she walked out she saw a Large Caucasian person walking away with her walker! There was no way she could catch them and is frail and could not yell at them and be heard so she watched her walker get stolen.

Now heres the help I need.... I need to find a replacement walker with brakes and seat. We live on a hill so she needs the brakes and the seat to rest. and she has no money to replace it.
So if anyone knows where I can get a replacement for super cheap (these walkers sell for $3-500!) She has yard sales and sells plants just tosurvive since her social security check is so small.
Any help would be appreciated!

I can't believe someone would rob a sweet little old lady who is trying her best to stay independent despite health issues and living off of a tiny social security check!
for cases like this I wish we still used "Shame Mask"! where the offender would have to wear a mask that publicly declare their shame for a period of time. or maybe stocks in the town square...
