Oh, ok. How much can they have weekly/daily? Are they high in protein?

It's just a treat, like scratch. Just another option.

are they chopped up or is it whole seeds? like wild bird feed?

I was just wondering that. In the shell or shelled? Thanks!

Whole seeds in the shell. The shells are black. Mine didn't know what to make of it at first, but gobbled it up after one of them started wolfing them all down.

I'm just sprinkling a few in the run every morning when I visit the girls before I go to work. It keeps them entertained for a few minutes as they look for them, and alleviates my guilt for leaving them in their 8X12 pen. I haven't let them out to free range yet and won't until I'm there to lock the dogs up and supervise. Plus, now of course, they associate my visit with yummy treats. Not manipulative at all. I did have to laugh the other night when I didn't get home until almost 7 PM and they had all gone into the coop to roost for the night. But as soon as Whitey Ford saw me through the coop window, she jumped off of the roost and RAN down the ramp into the run to see what I had brought her. Once the treats were gone, she waddled her way back up the ramp and back onto the roost for the night. Little piggy - she is the most amusing girl so far.

Hi Terra,
I just checked the phone # for Larry as I knew he had changed it in the last year, and the one you posted is his old one his new number is 360 273 7705. It is a land line he no longer has a cell. He wants people to leave a message and he will call back as he is not in the room where the phone is very often. If you can repost the new number, that would be wonderful!

I'll fill you in if I find out new stuff. There will be junior stuff that Cindy is helping with too.

Thanks, Sheryl
