They brought a billibed to my house for him and 2 nurses would come check up on him and take blood samples twice a day. But after the jaundice, DS was very healthy and has always grown very quickly; by 6 months old his height was so far off the charts it would not even go on the paper! He tends to still do the grow out/gro up thing. The beginning of last month it seemed he put on a lot of weight very quickly, but he is now in another grow tall spurt! He had 38WX34L pants that were getting snug on him a month ago, he is now wearing 34W X 36L pants that are looking too short!
My sister and my sister-in-law each had boys that weighed over 10 pounds!!!! My SIL weighs all of maybe 90 lbs herself, and she said it was a painless birth and only 2 stitches needed! she later had a 6 pound baby boy, and that was a difficult labor with lots of stitches. Her 10 pound boy is now almost 17 and is about 6 feet and skinnnnny! Her 6 lb boy is 15, is on the shorter side and weighs only 80 pounds. (Both my brother and his wife are very thin).
My sisters 10.5 pound boy is in 4th grade, and he is the shortest kid in the class! So birth size seems to have no bearing on how tall and big they will be. With how broad Alex was, the perinatologist was expecting Olivia to be a big baby too, so he made a huge cut for the c-section so she would not get stuck. Well, Olivia was a premie. They thought she was 3 weeks early, but they did an exam after birth and said it was more like 5 weeks early. She was 20th percentile at birth, and dropped a pound in 3 days because she did not have a sucking reflex yet and took over a month to get back to her birth weight. She was nearly 3 years old before she took off and grew quickly!
None of their kids have the shoulders that my kids do. I have Huge shoulders, my sister has big shoulders, but not like mine. My brother has narrow shoulders. My husband and his entire family have big shoulders and huge, thick feet. My kids got them too
. Alex does not play basketball. He loves soccer and he liked wrestling too. Everyone is trying to talk him into playing football. His social studies teacher happedns to be the J.V. football coach at the H.S. Everyone is pushing him towards it but he won't do it because he is afraid he will get a head injury. People see him kick the ball in soccer and tell me I need to get him out of soccer and put him in place-kicking camp, they tell him he can have his college paid for! The older boys tell him he'd be able to date almost any girl in the school, but he is not interested. I think once his hormones kick in, he may change his mind. So far the only thing his hormones have done is give him zits on his forehead.
I have the same problem with anesthesia. With my twins I had to have a C because they were transverse(side to side instead of up and down) Like you, it was my first surgery and my BP got down to 80/50. My temp got down to 95*. It was not fun! If I ever have to have surgery again, not sure what to do about the BP/anesthesia problem.
Unfortunately, I had to have 3 surgeries since then, and the first 2, I almost died. I had an experience the first one that now makes me unafraid of death as being something scary, but so terrified that if I ever reach that stage of euphoria again, I will not be able to focus on my family and pull out of it. I don't know what my temp got down to, but the last BP I heard them call out was something like 27/70. I apparently scared the crap out of everyone as my BP plummeted about 20 minutes out of surgery, and it fell fast! The said my arms were flailing and I was ripping out the IV's. I remember hearing them say that at the time, but I was not aware I was doing that even though I could hear them say it! I remember being so icy cold, all but my heart which felt warm and glowing. I remember trying my hardest to open my eyes to see all the commotion going on around me, but I couldn't. I could not feel my limbs at all. to me they seemed cold and motionless. Then the warmth around my heart felt to grow and pulse, the sounds around me faded. I must have started hallucinating because I remember looking for my dad who had recently passed away, but I couldn't find him, and I couldn't see anything, but I felt an incredible warmth and peacefulness and I was certain that I was talking to my grandmother even though she died in 1956; 11 years before I was born! She kept telling me I need to go back because I had 2 lovely kids who need me, and I wanted to stay because I felt so good. But eventuall I listened and I did go back. It was the "2" kids because I had just 1 and a pregnancy that had gone horribly wrong with poor odds of it being successful. It struck me that she said I had 2 kids, so then I felt I had to go back since I had only ever met one of them. The next thing I saw was my doctor telling me I'd given him and his staff a big scare, and there was a little boy running down the hallways for 3 hours waiting to see his mom. 4 hours had passed and it was only a 20 minute surgery!
It took me a couple years to share that story with anyone because I had me very confused and yet it all felt so real. The part I hallucinated felt just as real to me, in fact even more so than the surgery.

Has she been faithful on the nest? You should see something like a dark mass and some veining. Not quite filling up the whole space. What color are Cochin shells?
Beige/light brown. Either my flashlight is not strong enough or I don't know what I am looking at. I saw all the candling pics, but I don't get that much light going through the egg. This broody has been a great broody (much better than the EE who will hop to nests with larger eggs). On most of the eggs, I think I see veining, but I'm not sure, All I can see for sure is the air sac and a darker mass in the liquidy part, but I think than may just be yolk. I don't see an eye spot or anything like that. I don't think the eggs are fertile - the roo does not seem to get much action, she walks around when hes'd trying to do his thing and I don't think he's successful.

I totally believe in life after death so your story doesn't shock me at all! I know another lady who was working on high voltage electricity and was shocked and died(medically) They were able to bring her back and she has one fascinating story! She actually became a Christian because of it. She was an atheist or agnostic before the accident. She hasn't even told me the whole story yet. Just bits. But it most definitely changed her life! She did end up losing the arm that was shocked but it doesn't affect her personality one bit. She is one awesome lady! I think these stories are riveting!

There are 4 hatched LF Lemon-Blue Cochin chicks running around in one of my hatching incubators.....then they sit, and they are the FLUFFIEST FATTEST most gorgeous babies I have ever seen !!!!!!!!!!

One is very blue, will be a lemon blue, another yellow, will be a splash, and the other is way in back and looks to be another blue.
There is also a couple black & yellow babies in there~~

The pheasants are doing OK, 2 black with yellow bibs and long long legs, and one yellow, mottled & dotted and stripes down the back decided to go swimming this morning despite lots of marbles in the water font.
I found it shivering wet under the heat lamp he was still cold, so back in the incubator he went...2 eggs did not pip, 3 pipped but did nothing more (and I helped 2 of them and they still failed to hatch)
I am not hatching anymore of them...just ain't my deal.
The cochins however, POP out so well...fast !
