I hate to be the party pooper, but until you know what's going on with that chicks eye, and if it is a contagious infection, you really shouldn't be "swapping" any thing. You run a major risk of transmitting it to other people's birds....

I am not SWAPPING my chickens. I am doing a poultry swap for people to come and sell their chickens, turkeys, ducks and the like. Its going to be a big gathering with lots of people. I plan on buying some chickens if people have what I want.
So sorry that you misunderstood the intent.

Hey, anyone whos been to my house DO NOT tell CR how to get here!!!

Have a few minutes since DH is on a phone interview with Social Security and he's heading to town with me so waiting, waiting, waiting.

Just a note on horse manure for the garden. Thats mostly what I use but I heat compost it which kills the weed seeds and is ready in a few months. Mixing it with fresh mown grass works great. I also don't take horse manure from others since I usually don't know what they feed. My neighbor feeds the local grass hay that is usually not cut and baled until it it quite over mature. It also has lots of weeds. I feed my horses alfalfa and Orchard grass hay that has not gone to seed. Once they are on pasture I do not save their manure. It minimizes the amount of weeds.

Glad you all enjoyed the garden pics. Everything is a bit small right now but am going to photogragh things in progression. OK, DH says 'lets go" so see ya.
