Good Sunday morning my peeps!!!
Well I am praying that the sun is shining for you as it is here, but, I'm afraid that its not!! My BF is on that side and told me it was raining!! Who'd a thought!!
Ok, after another 24 hours, all the eggs were fertile all hatched out on it's own except one, I assisted after over 15 -18 hours of leaving it to it's own devices. the last two are not in good shape, I believe the humidity dropped despite the sponges I had put in , one hatched and what I believe is the vent is hanging out, dried blood on it's bottom!! Not sure how to cull it?? The other I assisted in the hatch after reading countless posts about shrink wrap and broody's advice, as I chipped away at the shell and membrane, there was no blood, I cleaned it off best I could, and place it back in the incubator, after 10 hours it's dry but, not able to stand?? So again, I will have to cull I'm thinking? All in all tho I think we did pretty good, out of 15 eggs, there was one clear, all other fertile, hatch rate good but hampered by inexperience!! I have then 12 cute little BO's and getting ready for a road trip to WA4hpoultrymom's to get my BLRW's and Split Orps, I think I'm going to sell my hatchery pullets that are maturing now, all the roos from the feedstore are going to freezer camp and we are going to pick and choose out chickens and see what kind of a business we can have!
I am truly sorry for everyones loses here in the last few days!! May you find the peace and strength you need to get though!!
Glad about the hatches and they seem to be going smoothly!!
I've already cried enough for one morning so I better go and get things ready for the big brooder!!!
Everyone have a great day!!! Oh and here are some pics to leave you with!!
Again I am not the wonderful photographer that many of you are!!! but, I think it works!!
