Nope sorry. I can't remember if it was a a kids cartoon or for an advertisement. I can see it in my mind but not well enough to get a good picture.

Was it the hen in the cartoon with the rooster?

These are some of the last 2 hatches. I just thought they were cute because of all the different colors!

Went thru similar when my daughter was 17. Good student, no issues, then suddenly she's smothered and has to leave. ? Law said she could, so what could I do but stand by? I left the country. I told her straight out I wasn't going to hang around for the Sheriff to show up and tell me she was in jail or, God forbid, dead in a ditch. I told her I refused to do it.

Soooo hard to do, but that tough love thing really works. Several months later she was working 2 burger joint jobs just to pay rent and all her "friends" were eating her groceries and abusing her hospitality. Large. The truck we had given her had been impounded, and all her "friends" were drifting away since she couldn't drive them around...

I am SO fortunate. My youngun finally realized I wasn't the bad guy. We worked out a living arrangement that included her contributing to expenses, even tho I didn't need it.

Now my oldest grandson is about to graduate. He's giving her grief, very much like you've described. And so the cycle continues...

I wish you strength, sista girl, until your DS figures out what he's losing. And I will keep ya in my prayers...

Thank you so much....i really need to good thoughts. I just hope he pulls it together. But, I think that he will have to learn the hard way. I will keep everyone updated.

Im so sorry, kids they keep us jumping dont they. My oldest son came home one night and he had hit something in his dads truck. Than he had the gall to yell at me, I told him to get out thats wasnt what family did here. So he did. I didnt know where he went and it was just days before Christmas, it killed me. But he did come home and all was well..

Sometimes it's better that kids leave home sooner rather than later. My relationship with my mother improved when I moved out.

I have a question I'm not sure how to classify. Can a chicken be bred by more than one rooster at a time? Referring again to Whitey Ford, the light Sussex I picked up from CGG. We had determined that because of the feathered legs, that the Golden Cuckoo Marans was little Juju's daddy. But her brother who had nearly identical coloring from the beginning is much larger than she is, has no feathered legs, and is looking a lot different, not to mention he has a huge comb compared to her. Is it possible he may have had a different daddy - perhaps the black Orpington that had been in the layer pen with the light Sussex? Is it possible that a hen can lay eggs on consecutive days that have been fertilized by different roosters? I may be jumping the gun referring to their gender, but I'm pretty certain Juju is a pullet and the other is a little roo. He's always the first to come running when there's a commotion of some kind to face off whatever imagined "threat" there may be to the flock. It's pretty clear he's taking charge. None of this is important in any way. I'm just curious and enjoy learning. This is kind of my own little biology/genetics home project. But it does make me wish there was a possibility of doing more intentional breeding in the future. I will just have to live vicariously through the rest of you!

I took a few more shots with the camera phone this morning. Juju's feathered legs and feet make me laugh. And the cockerel, (we call him "Cocky" because of his swagger) is sporting a much larger comb than any of the other chicks. DD strokes his beak and comb and it must feel good because it nearly makes him fall asleep. They are all entering their awkward adolescence which makes them that much more endearing to me.
I also switched out the shavings for sand in the brooder this morning. Whoa - it was like the chicks were at the amusement park! Instant dust baths, picking at the sand, scratching like mad. I guess it was a welcome change for them.

Both of Whitey's kids - Juju on top of the Eco glow, with the cockerel wondering why she has "his" spot. The perspective is deceiving. He is much bigger than she is.

Heck no jump on in here. And if ya were missed in the welcomes it was not on purpose. It is just that things get rolling pretty fast here at times and some times we ferget our manners.
Not to worry about being from the other side of the big creek. We let Cloverleaf farm hang out with us too.

And if ya can keep a secret I will tell ya something. Now promise not to tell but I am a transplant. See I lived in The Dalles when I was youngER. No tellin now ya hear !!!!
