I've ordered a 1/2 hog from him last time I was there - we went to the barn and he took me to a pen containing 3, and asked which I would like. One was pink, 2 B&W. One of the B&W looked at me, tipping it's head and batting long eyelashes! I told him to pick it for us, I think I need my meat already cut-up at the butcher counter! His animals all looked healthy, happy and clean. Thank Goodness he does not sell the Buffalo by the whole of half! Imagine getting one of those into your freezer!

Well, I haven't had enough rainless minutes to get my jacket on and get out to the coop, but I did use up some nervous energy fixing my labradorite necklace and in 45 minutes or so the larger spawn will show up and take me to Home Depot in the truck where I will buy the stuff I need to slam together a hoop house so I can pick up more BLRWs from Tiff'sBroodyBabes- probably on Monday, unless my DH is suddenly up to driving to Seattle on Sunday.

The weather is really frustrating: I have, in fact, everything cut and ready to put together, but working in the wet means I'll hurt to badly the next day to do anything at all.

ARGH. I just remembered that I need to do a bit more jewelry fixing; I managed to loose one component for the earrings that match the necklace. Onward!

Roof is done. Time for a quick bite to eat and then I'll go work on the sheeting of the nesting boxes. After that - if I'm not too tired, I'll finish the sheeting on the front. I'm debating internally about windows/screens up high. I can always cut a hole in a wall later

Glad to see your keeping busy. Looking forward to see more pictures of your coop. Did you say in one of your posts, that you don't get much SNOW in Yakima??? You must not live in the same Yakima as my family

Its an electric saw. like a bigger version of a jig saw, but with a bigger blade. Fun tool. Runs about $20+ at Harbor Freight.
Looks like a good garden but you know we only have another 60 days before it starts to snow right?

Susie was my BEST brown egg layer. she was one of my three favorites. so I am alittle down in the dumps. I know its JUST a chicken.

I'm not going to make it tonight. The DW wants me to go to the store with her. Kim's vet has her force feeding one of her chicks EVERY hour so I know she won't make it tonight. We usually ride together. Hopefully we can make the next one
