Hello & welcome Spanaway!
I am too far and on too much land to have to pay any attention to regulations, which is good or I would be in big trouble.
Keep on this thread..someone close by your area can help!

Someone on BYC did crop surgery on their bird, photographed every step. Came out successful. I'll see if I can find the thread.

Just got home and saw your PM. I PMed ya back. After I did the surgery, within 3-4 days, I couldn't tell which chick it was any more. I healed really fast! It's really not a big deal thank goodness!

It sounds like not a crop problem, but an object that has passed through the crop & plugged the "tube" that runs from the crop to the gizzard.
The crop holds food and funnels it into the gizzard.
Small, hard objects that enter this "tube" can lodge and prevent anything else from passing.
Grapes are notorious for this, or hard dog kibble.
Birds have no stomach acid to break down food.
If it goes in hard & cannot mush up fast enough, it can lodge in the tube.
No amount of crop irrigation helps if something is lodged in the tube.

Sorry I can't help either, too far south! But good to have ya here!
Too bad there isn't a chicken zoning map on line. Like a pats map for wetlands or flood zones except you could enter in "Chicken zoning regs".

I was so tired last night I think my post was confusing.
My comment was to Ogress about the fused toes.
I did see the pics of the crop surgery though. Interesting! The surgery pics for that are in the Learning Center under Diseases.

I watched the video 3X and tried 3X to sex the runner ducklings...and I COULD NOT "spread" or "pull downward" the vent..It was hard to even FIND the vent on most.
DH says "it is true!
A ducks a** is watertight after all!!!"

Apparently, there are three "flavors," orange, lemon/lime and fruit punch.

I was thinking about that because I normally don't eat/drink much sugar because it does make me crash...so I avoid it all together.

I had to drink some of that stuff and omg it did just what everyone said . Good thing I only have to have a colonospy every ten years!

X2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

only until ya get back to the barn where ya have bailing wire. The twine is lighter and much easier to pack.

We don't even have baling *twine* worth using anymore, round bale twine is like dental floss, and now we're putting up a lot of silage bales (the ones that look like giant marshmallows in the field) and that comes with bale wrap, which is of no use for anything.

Available at most feed, and garden stores:
Flip the birds over & powder their behinds, between legs and not directly IN the vent. flush so the powder gets down in there.
