I really hope I am the only one that is enjoying the severe effects of (hayfever type) allergies. Not that I enjoy it but hope nobody else is going through this. My nose is nearly constantly dripping and then there are the sneazes that take me off my feet and leave me eggshausted by the end of day. I haven't had it this bad since I stopped getting shots 12 years ago.

Well I don't think I would eat but I do know people who have for extended periods of time. To me eating dirt makes about as much sense as only eating veggies. NOT gotta have some meat and gravy to go with all them spuds.

DON'T try to eat DE straight from the spoon !

trust me, I know whereof I speak !

Kaopectate is more pleasant

.... though I still miss the similar product that was chocolate mint flavored

I was curious

.... however, I have found that tea made from "sticky willy" is rather pleasant
(it does, however, tend to be a little odoriferous on the way out)

and my chicks continue to gobble that sticky-willy up, any time I pull some for them .. they like it even better than clover
or dandelion greens

today they have stayed inside the coop and MUTTERED at the weather; they aren't fond of wind (we had a couple of gusts hitting 40 mph -- that's enough to make the sliding doors whistle a bit) -- though the coop and run is mostly in the wind shadow of our house

DH has chronic allergies / postnasal drip / sneezles ... he has had best results with the Aller-Clear sold at Costco (generic OTC Loratidine); and a prescription inhaler called Q-Var (expensive if you don't have coverage for drugs)

I bought him a Neti Pot -- highly recommended by a couple of friends -- but he has yet to open the package and use it

I'm not a big teaser like you and my DH are CR but I just couldn't resist since you made that crack about the duck and goslings!
Keep in mind, I never noticed anything. Someone else had to point it out to me!

And I'm keeping it just the way it is cause I'm always talkin' like a hillbilly anyway so it fits me just fine! Just had to give you a hard time!

We have a joke in our house. We say,"You wasn't homeschooled was ya?" So now the kids are saying it to me cause I never noticed the sign!
P.S. Most of you know I home school all my kids, so I'm not making fun of anybody but little ol' me!

CR- About those allergies... I'm just now recovering from a week and 1/2 long bout with what I thought was allergies to start with. Ended up getting a sinus infection.
Talked to a nurse and she said it's a funky cold of sorts, just acts like allergies. Sometimes a bad cough. Zaps your energy bad! It can move into your head and lungs easily so watch out! I couln't even get my Nettipot to flow though my sinuses. Today was my first day w/o Sudafed and Afrin. I'm trying to wean myself off the stuff!

Chickielady,

Back here a million years ago, I used to scuba dive. The only trick for keeping ears unplugged was using Afrin nasal spray. Not misting your sinuses, but tipping your head back and putting a couple drops in each nostril, till you could taste it in your throat. Tastes awful, but works. Was told that Afrin was the only OTC item that would not have side effects while under pressure. (The under water kind of pressure-

)

Hope it helps

Russ

But don't use it for more than three days or you get a rebound effect. When I was having problems last month, the generic form of Afrin is one of the things they gave me.

I cannot take it.
I had a severe auto-immune reaction to both Afrin and the generic type.
I would do a sniff in each nostril, and witin minute or two I could breath so good!
Then the tissues would swell, twice as bad as before.
The sensitivity was so severe, my doc had to put me on prednisone for a week to get me off the Afrin.
During that time, I was up all night, ate constantly, amd ended up with a drug-induced (prednisone) reaction, AGAIN.
So many things I cannot take.

I have some going to hatch this weekend. I am sure there will be a couple roosters in there...as usual lol.

Can you put me down for a blue roo and a splash girl if you have any to spare????? If not this hatch, than another down the road is fine too. My Hoss baby boy is black.
sad.png
I wasn't sure at first. But pretty sure now. I already have a black boy my girls are in love with, so if anyone wants a black Hoss baby boy, I have one available! Hatched under my broody from RedReiner's eggs. He's almost 4 wks old I think and already HUGE.

might do better showing a black roo if you wanted to go that route
smile.png
I will see what hatches. my last hatch (different stock) I got 7 boys 6 girls. right now I have 7 eggs that made it this far so will probaby get 4 or 5 boys and a couple girls lol . will paint your name on a blue boy
