Time to call your Dr

Unfortunately, I had to take my migraine meds. I left work yesterday but it is no better today. I'm supposed to avoid taking the meds with pregnancy but when I cannot function, I need to. This is the 3rd time I've needed to take it during my pregnancy. Feeling guilty every time. But I can't be a good petrie dish if I can't do anything because it all hurts.

Yeah for new babies X 2! I'm curious what a BLRW splash looks like. I thought they all had lacing on them to be BLRW? Still learning...

The broodies sure are fun to watch with their chicks! Mine started squaking and turning round and round looking for one of the chicks, he was just following her tail round and round so she did not see him, but he was peeping so she heard him! Finally he stopped, she gave him a little scolding and scooted him back toward her. The other 2 were running around the feeder.

I'm not sure what to do about the fused toes on the one, I was going to make the cut, but it looks like the one toe loops into the other so I don't think I could do it without cutting bone, and he seems to be moving around just fine now. If it was just thin membrane between, I could do it.

They are fun. When I got home from work I went straight out & checked on them. All is good. Had to snap more pictures

Broodie looks so mean but I can still handle her & the chicks. What age can they come out & run around a little? I know a few more weeks for sure as they're only 2 or 3 days, loosing track already. I have a trackor that just needs a tarp over the top that I can later put them & Broodie in during the day.

Peeking out.

I bought two turkeys with the mixed cockerels I got this spring, I knew I should have done more reading on them!! So you aren't supposed to raise them with chickens??? opps!!!! so we are making a new run for them. Also, the meaties are ready for freezer camp so we have to get things ready for that probably by next week!
Cl do you know if using the T bleach solution works with turkeys too? I've had it in all of their water, not sure if I should have now!! I'm thinking of raising just acouple Sweetwater Turkeys!! Also, I'm looking for vaccines info for turkeys as well, do they need the same as chickens?? OH....found some wooden apple boxes for 8 dollars on CL and we are going to make transition brooders out of a couple!!! JBear hope your goats are doing better and you found the answer, I have goats but, haven't had them long nor do I really know bunches about them. I just vaccinate and trim their hooves. Anyway, good luck to 4312 on you hatch and wa4hpoultrymom. RFF I will contact you by pm about coming up to get the drake!!! Everyone have a good rest of you day!! OH, yea, Barn chick, nice babies!!!

Ok, feeling better with the meds in me.

An update on the hen with the concern about food getting to her crop. Last night when DH & I were home & were going to feed her, we noticed she actually had food in her crop!!!

It wasn't stuck in her esophagus. So we fed her some scrambled eggs and it went to her crop again.

Makes us feel so much better.

We haven't done anything about the mites yet. Have to pick up food this weekend and figured we'd get some permethrin dust at that time for DH to use.

DH's birthday is on Saturday and we're having a BBQ for him/housewarming party. Expecting 45 - 55 guests. Anyone have any favorite dishes they like to serve up for gatherings? I usually bring caprese salad but may be hard for me to find pasteurized mozzarella balls. DH is planning hamburgers, brats, and probably some veggie skewers for the new gas grill I got him (FiL & DH will be putting it together tonight). I've never made egg salad or potato salad so maybe that's what I should do with our eggs- we have about 3 or 4 dozen right now that I could use. If all goes well, we could try to plan a BBQ for the summer for the BYC peeps.

Looks like every one is busy here. Im counting the days till schools out, but found out today that they are cutting back on drivers. So now I need to start looking for jobs, not sure if Im going to be one of the drivers but dont want to take a chance.

I'm not busy so much as zapped; I basically took apart half of what we got done yesterday and put it back together again true and square, and then added a reinforcing bracket on the door end. It's a darned good thing that I can't use a hammer anymore, because screws are a lot easier to take apart and put back together. Tomorrow is my husband's day off, and if he can sit in a chair and hold the end of the tape measure down I will be all kinds of helped. I was going to get further advanced on the Wyandotte coop but it was too muggy and airless and when I brought the Hamburg eggs in I failed at turning around and going back outside, bad me. We have company coming- the hired hand's dad who we've known forever, who lives in Germany now- and are going out for dinner, so I need to get up and shower and change but at the moment, the chair is comfy.
