Give him a chance to sleep on it. Maybe he'll calm down. Tell him it's your hormones.

I hate to say it, but he does have a point re the feeding and watering while you're caring for the baby, and re the working on the nursery instead of the coops.

If this is your first child he may just be overly nervous. I was. I was scared to death as I didnt know what was coming. Maybe this is what is happening. Once I realized that the baby was here, was ok, and that I could not feed him, I went back to fishing and hunting regularly.

I like the new coop

especialy the rv window, a room with a view. We used 2 recycled windows in ours, one was a very tough fit, had to put it in the door which made the door much larger than we wanted.

that way they are not cookie cutter coops, say that 3 times fast.

The Radio is because I am radio active. Turn the radio on I get active, turn the radio off I stop !!! Not sure about the roo. I am still trying to get one for sure.

I figure he's yours when you want him! He'll come tame and pre-spoiled! When I got home tonight, I found DH in my chair by the brooder holding a sleeping chick! But everyone says there my chickens. Ha! It was very sweet! Don't tell him that!
I'm gonna go and try to swap Jim cookies for more eggs. I would pay him if he would let me! But he won't take the money. What a guy!

I dig the radio! What do your birds prefer to listen to? I usually have the Mariners on when I'm out by my coops. I drag a big shop radio out there. Last week when we were planting the tree, I had the radio close so the boys could hear the game. I walked out to the coop and carried back my best bird to show the ladies. On our way back to the coop, the bird refused to walk away from the radio until I turned it off. Then she promptly followed me the rest of the way 'home'.

Except, he moved in an 18 year old boy from school (he's a teacher) and took pity on this kid--so for the last 6 months, we've been housing this kid in the nursery and I because I'm in charge of the grocery budget, I was paying for him to eat. And let me tell you this kid could eat! DH did get him moved to Spokane last weekend so he's gone now--but that's the REAL reason the nursery has been the same since early winter--because it was occupied and not because I really had anything to do with it.

And as for the feeding/watering--maybe he does have a small point...but he still be starting work two weeks after the baby is born. He refuses to take any time off at all. Even though he's got 7 months of sick leave or some ridiculous amount saved up...so basically as soon as I'm physically able to feed/water everything, I will have to because he will not be around. We also have his in-laws who live across the horse pasture and have already said they'll be here whenever we need them...and my mom and one of my sisters is coming up for an entire month after the baby gets here....so all is not lost....

If the M's or any other sports are on the radio goes off!!!! I like Classic rock. Like 60's -70's and some 80's but I will listen to a wide variety if need be.

It is....and he started chewing again.

He had stopped for almost 6 months and I thought for good but then he started losing a lot of weight and he's not very good at covering it up....he now buys those little packet things that look like a weird teabag....he will go in the bathroom and pretend to be pooping/reading for 45 minutes and then he'll spit the juice & packet in the toilet.

And sometimes even after he tries to flush, the packet is still in the toilet and it's all nasty.

He went fishing this morning. He said he needed to. I did not argue.

I did go through all of my invoices last night and tallied up totals by breed so he could see what each breed contributes to the overall "income" of this place and then the total from this entire hatching season. He looked it only briefly....

Of course, I'll keep working on him....he's seriously OCD. So when he thinks he's not in control or things are not 100% "perfect" he flips out.

He'll probably make up a contract and have me sign it like he did with the horses....something like--that I'll stop buying breeds or needing coops at some point or something....

Which is fine. If that goes into affect this fall.
