I can't kill anything....so I had my FIL do the deed & my MIL did the gutting. They skin theirs because I guess the scalding & plucking is no fun.

Would your in laws help me with butchering? I can do/help....I just can't by myself. I would be more than happy to pay them or share or whatever?

Probably? They do goats, too.

You know, it'd be worth a lot to be able to see when I was just before the point where I'd worked so hard that I was going to be too tired to get out of my chair and go to bed when the time came (somewhere around two hours ago.

No more wire-darning tomorrow, I hope.

So glad they are both ok. They are lucky. Our neighbors across the street had twins about 10 or 12 years ago, a boy and a girl. The Mom was delighted with the girl because her older two kids were boys. She was a beautiful little baby with lots of dark hair. They let the older brother who was maybe 5 or 6 hold the little girl over a tile floor and he dropped her on her head. The Auburn hospital ER sent her home and said she was fine. She died at home a couple days later. Obviously, she wasn't fine. Ambulances zooming into the neighborhood are never a good thing. Such a tragedy.

Oh my that is terrible! This mom is so over cautious that I wont relate that story to her.
This was on carpeted stairs and her boy was 10. Still I don't think she's gonna let him carry his brother for a long time.

That poor little boy that dropped her will have to live with that his whole life too. Hope they get him counseling but how could you ever forget something like that. Heartbreaking.
