Score! I'd be looking at Broody's post from yesterday for some great ideas! She has a nice set-up.

She has a fantastic set up. Unfortunately, I just don't have the room. I have to be really creative. But I plan to use every panel and every square inch to the most of its usage.

We have 5 acres but had to carve out that area out of the hillside in our backyard. All out land is on a hillside.

Just very happy that I found such a steal. they are few and far between in this area.

Had to post more pictures of my cute Barnevelder chicks with broody hen. I do have another silly hen that is going broody, not liking her. My first the Cuckoo Marans would get upset but not peck. My favorite SLW pecks hard. I kicked her out of the nest, had to use a board to push her out & she just sat outside the nest with the evil stare as she watched me take the eggs she was hiding from me. I was wondering why I was running out of eating eggs. Hubby's thinking about hatching some quail eggs. Anyone have any Quail eggs we could hatch? Found a place but they only sell 100 eggs. A little too many for our little hobby. Can they be raised with chickens?

Shannon

Hatched June 7th morning so I guess they are almost 2wks. Glad Broody adopted them.

I have been told I have the biggest willow tree in Okanogan County. It is huge. We cut some 30 ft out of the top around 10 years ago.....but it is huge.

My experience with willows....cut them back as far as you want....it all will grow back. You can completely chop it all off and it will come back

Dad had a willow-enemy clogging a field drain with its roots that he tried to get rid of for decades; he finally tried cutting it down, chunking it up with a chainsaw, pouring a gallon of deisal on the pile and setting it on fire; that was in March: the Willow came roaring back by the end of May.

I would have been tempted to leave it longer and see if any more sprouted up.

DW insisted I call Jim today and see if we can go get the RIR B cockerel. So I called and Jim said no he is still pretty small. He won't be ready for breeding until fall. I told him I am not in a hurry for breeding just want to get him home. He said no I still think he is too little them hens will hurt him. He also said don't worry I haven't for got ya I will let ya know when he is ready.

Try to PM Rainwolf She hatched quial and could probably supply you with eggs. You may have to go back a number of pages to find her on here.
