Yes I have always been told bumbles do sting and I have been told it hurts. I know mason bees rarely sting and the people I know who have been said it is about like a skeeter. I would take 10 honey to one wasp/hornet. Them suckers flat out hurt me bad

The worst bee sting I ever had was a bald-faced hornet. OMG....it was like a very bad burn, mixed with a hornet sting. I'm very allergic to bees and I always have benadryl with me but probably need an epi-pen like my dad has....my DH says that "meat bees" or "ground hornets" are right up there with the baldies in terms of pain from their sting. I've been stung on my head by a honeybee (once), stepped on a bumblebee (once), got stung on my knee (once) by a yellow jacket and then I got nailed by the bald-faced when I moved here. I was in a store in Wauconda and felt something on my hand. Without even thinking, I brushed at it. It was a bald-faced hornet and it was right on the webbing of my thumb. Man it HURT!

My mom had a bunch of bees get under her gown the day of her wedding! Kinda was an indicator of how the marriage was going to go! She was a little red head with a BIG temper!

This one has never attacked, but he's young yet, probably good eating age, and I'm not attached to this one like I was the Barnies! I should, some day, learn how to butcher a chicken. I guess I've turned squeemish, though I think I could handle it if it were killed and plucked.

I have 2 camps here. If they are just a little out of line they go to boot camp first then if they fail boot camp they go to freezer camp.

Good one

I can't kill anything....so I had my FIL do the deed & my MIL did the gutting. They skin theirs because I guess the scalding & plucking is no fun.

Would your in laws help me with butchering? I can do/help....I just can't by myself. I would be more than happy to pay them or share or whatever?

I have been told I have the biggest willow tree in Okanogan County. It is huge. We cut some 30 ft out of the top around 10 years ago.....but it is huge.

My experience with willows....cut them back as far as you want....it all will grow back. You can completely chop it all off and it will come back

To some one who has not seen them they look some what like a BR.

The males are slivery at hatch where the females are more black. They say you can tell by a spot on the head but I couldn't. The color was easy to tell.
When full grow, the males look like a BR in color but the girls are mostly black with smudges of white, not full bars.

He's lucky that he still has the entire finger!

Okay, now I know more of the story. There was a branch/leaf stuck in it so he ran his finger along it to get the branch/leaf off.....slice....deep cut into his finger. YES, he is very lucky he did not cut the finger OFF!!!!!! It could easily have done it. Silly boy. He is fine, big ole' bandaged finger...playing X-Box.

Just wait until the numbing starts to wear off that finger is gonna feel like it will splode and probably will get a heart beat of its own and feels like it is trying to clone itself. Been there done that (more than once) didn't even get a dang T shirt !!!!

yeah, we have him loaded up on Ibuprofen and Tylenol. Told him to keep it above his head as much as possible. It is gonna hurt.

It has something to do with the gender; my brother is a cop and shot off his finger while cleaning his gun (forgot it was loaded) about a month after graduating from the CHP Academy, yet he went on and was awarded the Medal of Valor a couple years later. In both cases, he thought nothing of his own personal safety.

I agree....a boy thing.
