I have been doing the extreme coupon thing for a month now and have saved over 250 - 300 dollars!! It really works!! it just takes time to get the papers and find the deals, I subscribe to a few blogs most of them are from up there, but, they take the guess work out of stuff, I will pm you about your goats.

Oh very cool, I hope I can save that much. I have been doing ok with it, and must say my son is happy to have food in here more now than before. We should start a Coupon thing on this site and see what every one is doing. Does that sound good, maybe do a coupon swap or something. I have so many for baby things. I can get lots of the mail coupon one's have a 6 inch stack from last weeks, dont know about this week.
Hope to hear from you soon.

no I meant the really cheap rotgut type beer -- not GOOD beer !

what is it in those huge bottles, Colt45 or something? I used to pick them up beside the road and recycle bottles for $

another idea: you could throw some of your overripe, compostable fruits in water, let them ferment a bit --- then later toss all in compost once you have caught sufficient rats and need fresh

yea, that would be awesome! Now, I have found out, here in Sunnyside, the dollar tree sells the seattle times advanced addition on sat am!! So I have been going down early in the morning and getting 4 - 5 papers with the coupons, I have a big binder and the first time my boyfriend went with me and he saw how much I saved he freaked out!! Now he's all about the coupons!! lol! So I take it you watch extreme couponing on tlc?? there are some blogs that help, two of them were on the show, one from seattle one from spokane.
there is Krazy coupon lady, extreme coupon 101, and frugal chic living, oh and living rich with coupons! that's just to name a few! It's addictive really!! lol

Well, if you keep your luggage packed in public, people won't have to use the P word! Right?

Thanks!
I actually did not know they were close.
The biggest deal is cost.
Boers are more popular & easier (cheaper) to come by.
I actually (if I get any) will contact the goat rescue here in Western washington, there is alot of goats looking for homes, so when the time comes, I will do that first.
But I did book mark both links!!

I agree the Kikos are MUCH more expensive!! Although for your climate I guess they are well suited, over here, Boers do very well they tolerate the heat and do well on little pasture. I have had mine as weed eaters for a year now and I love their personality!! This little girl is a kick!! Never thought about a goat rescue?? Does anyone know how long empty nest lasts?? lol! I think that's why I go through these stages of wanting baby animals?? It started two years ago when I left Wy and my 18 yr old son behind!! He didn't want to come with me and I couldn't make him, but when we bought this property the next thing you know, I'm getting baby everything!! pigs, goats, now it's chicks!!! Terry thinks it's all in my head, but with him gone so much I think it's staying busy and something needing me?? Anyway, it is what it is I guess!!

It makes sense to me. With children gone you have more time on your hands.

Pre-kids when I had more of a social life, a bunch of friends and co-workers and I would get together a couple of times a month to play poker, but instead of using chips or money, we exchanged coupons. It was a lot of fun, but I always seemed to end up with the Depends.

What a cutie! I need to stop looking because I want goats for blackberry control, and DH says NO GOATS!!!!

The problem, of course, is that nothing else works: no other animal eats the darn stuff*, and cutting back and digging the burls is a yearly life-time job, because anywhere blackberries have grown for more than a year or two is full of viable seeds (they have this in common with Scotch Broom, BTW). Burning in February and digging the burls only has to be done about every three years, and is best for fruit production but is highly illegal; I've yet to find a non-organic control that works with less effort than burning, or half as well. Goats are da bomb for blackberry control, wethers are great pets, but there's two problems: they'll eat anything if you don't protect it by fences so tight you can't see in, they can climb like cats (and the pygmies are worst for that, followed by Cashmeres). Oh, and they have really unfortunate senses of humor. Wethers are great pets, but there's three problems...

* well, Jacob sheep, when there's no green grass. Which is not my current condition. I will have photos of my new lamb and the sheep tractor by this time tomorrow.

I too, have recently 'lost' a very good, dedicated grabber.

Bummer.
Now I am left with one that works great (so far) and one that works great at grabbing but continues to fold up as the elbow lock no longer locks.
I am sending it to DH's Fort/laborotory for immediate repair.

And now off to do marketing/Post Office, etc...bye all!!!

My mom is an Occupational Therapist and mom always complained about the worthless grabbers they had for all her patients. They had some slightly better ones in her OT catalogs, but they were pricey. Dad, who was a mechanical engineer, designed a better one and made them in the garage for all her patients one year ... and a few more each year after that. He would also make forks and spoons that were easy for stroke victims to use and sized right for an adult, and all sorts of other useful items.

That sounds like a dream come true to me. As it is: I dropped my 22oz framing hammer down by the hoop house, and I need to remember to have the hired hand pick it up today or it will lie there until I have somebody who can lean over helping me who is not also hungry and exhausted after nine hours of being polite to people* on the telephone.
