Huh? It's salvageable? There's nothing left but a stump.

DH was going to dig it up and burn it. It looks like the center of the truck is rotten? I need shade fast...before it gets too hot out....last few years, I've had to resort to throwing tarps over my runs and DH says it looks, "white trash."

So I've been babying this little tree and it finally got big enough to provide shade this summer and snapped.

I'm just glad the wind was blowing in the right direction and that it was only 10-15 feet tall...if my big cottonwood decides to go, it will take out my entire coop.

Don't e in a hurry to dig it up. Wait to see what happens. If it sprouts, great. If it doesn't, you can dig it out later.

Yup. They are not absolutely inerrant about avoiding toxic plants.

. She's going into 1st grade & she caught those mistakes & fixed them outloud, smart one. I thought it was cute.

So speaking of goats, anyone know if goats will eat rhodies? I know that rhodies are bad for goats, I just wonder if the goat knows they are bad & will stay away from them naturally? Just a question my husband asked me & I didn't know.

Many goats are very fond of rhodies. And sadly rhodies can kill them.

Goats are dumber than some people: eating toxic plants is a multispecies problem.

Okay...I'll have to let my OCD DH know.

Although I'm pretty OCD about that too...and really want to plant something else there ASAP....
