Thats awsome Ogress! Happy Birthday to your DD, and a very happy anniversary to you and your DH!
My not so little younger brother "Trey" is turning 12!
Clean up after our 4th celebration is easy. Well easy except for the pots and pans...
Paper plates will deffinately be used! lol All firework casings will be cleaned up on the 5th, and burned. Our neighbors left for Sun Lake, and as they were pulling out of the driveway she told us not to feel bad if the garage burns down!
We had a close call 2 years ago, a faulty morter went out the tube about 12 feet, then went sideways right into their carport/garage. Landed in a styrofome cup full of motor oil, and caught fire!
The fire didnt spread, thankfully, and was put out imediately. Our neighbors would never had known if we hadn't told them the next day. They both laughed, and said we should have let it burn...
Sorry we can't and wont let that happen.
hehe We have lots of July 4th stories. Like July 4th 1999... My mother started having contractions, my sister got hit square in the forhead by a large rocket, and both Mom and Crystal wound up in the Hospital that night... We no longer go into Suquamish on the 4th... That place used to be a war zone. Quite litterally in fact. Four seperate tribes used to square off around this large cement slab, and blow each other up! That got shut down a couple years ago, when I believe 13 people were sent to the ER, and one was a fatality...
So we hold our own gathering, invite anyone and everyone, and make it a safe, free, family friendly event. Well as safe as we can be with explosives anyway... But it only happens once per year, when it is legal to blow things up! lol
