I picked up the kids from camp last night. Thursday DD slept out under the stars, and it squalled on them! Of course she brought her entire duffel out to the field instead of leaving it in the cabin, so EVERYTHING is soaked!

Kids had a great time. Olivia was trying to eat only gluten-free foods, and the counselors noticed she was not eating much so she told them she tries to eat only GF foods. The cafeteria lady brought her to the "Gluten Free" room that was filled with all sorts of good foods and had her pick out what she wanted, and then the made special meals for her and another girl in her cabin who was also GF.

Alex's horse was named Hoss, and I bet if he could fit Hoss into his suitcase, Hoss would be here with us now! He loved camp except for trotting. He said his butt remained numb for hours afterward!

I am going to Califonrnia to visit my relatives for the next 10 days or so - dreading the drive! I won't be on here much. DH will take care of the chicken. The chicks are no longer fighting, and Momma hen has abandoned them. I still have her in the same coop because she will still prtoect them from the other chickens when they get too close.

Well I have been busy all day!
Started this morning emptied everything out of the van & vacuumed & detailed...cleaned the console of it's collection of dog hair, feathers, hay and crud.
Put it all back together & washed it.
Cleaned all coop poop trays, cleaned 2 chick pens...cleaned the hatching incubator, as another lockdown goes in Tuesday...
Then went shopping for soy-wheat-gluten free groceries, not much to find but shrimp rice & some vegies I am not growing already.
Got rice protein powder & lots of nanners to do myself some breakfast shakes, but cannot find my blender....

Must still be in CA.

Now I am checking in & going to go pick yet more millions of peas, and have a stir fry for din-din.....

Chickens, like all birds (I have read it is all birds) have the capibility to sleep with half their brain and be awake with the other half.
They can be asleep on 1 side, and awake on the other.
This is to help protect from predators I guess.
