I forgot to say- I'm cycling the Wyandotte eggs for incubation out of storage, so that when Deirdre loans me her lucky incubator

I'll be starting with the fresher eggs; two older eggs went into an omelet tonight, and they had nice big bullseyes on the yolks.

I'm not sure how hot it got here today; it was breezy and I kept to the shade as much as possible. Hot enough that I hope it cools down a little tomorrow, I guess.

We have had 10 days straight with temps above 100* with the index making it feel like 110* to 120*. You know it very hot when your driving down the road doing 70 mph and the air coming in the windows feel like a hair drier set on high and offers on relief.

Lost my only Coronation Sussex yesterday, I believe do to the heat. I found her on her back, feet up and her head curled around to the side.

too bad Kansas doesn't have a nice Pacific Ocean to moisturize things

I lived in Oklahoma for a couple of years ... so I remember going outside and feeling like a pizza oven had just fallen on me

It was a cheer at the football game. It's how I learned to spell Tonasket when I was 10.
The last football game I went to there, actually... and I caught the mumps, too.
A very memorable game!
