(sigh of relief) --- at last, there is Deirdre-the-pullet's egg ...

I KNOW it's hers, because she's the only one in the coop right now

all the rest are out browsing in the chicken tractor, which we sited on top of a bunch of blooming clover

she didn't want to leave the coop --- I had the run door open and all the rest were happily flying after me, tractor-wards

now I know she isn't eggbound ... this egg just slightly bigger than the one she laid a couple/three days ago, still a very pretty pale pastel minty green ... clearly different from Phoebe's palely-tinted blue one

c'mon, Christina, Anitra, Becky, and Ginger ! and given size-of-comb, that's probably the order they will start -- Ginger wants NOTHING to do with the roo .. the other three are showing certain signs of being ready

With all this nice warm weather (NOT) made me think of how warm I want to be this winter so here is how I spent 2 1/2 hrs of my morning. Now I just have to get it into the shed but since my back has really been giving me fits lately I think I may wait a day or so.

If you cut and loaded that much wood in 2 1/2 hours, you are my new hero.
It would take me 2 1/2 months.

Wow. I'd blow that out and hang it like an ornament. It's just to cool looking.
