I'll do that.

Though I'm not sure it was mulberry.... It may have been mixed berry. Down at the local Amish community they were selling these big buckets (I don't remember how much they held, but they were about the size of lamb milk replacer buckets) of berry puree and we grabbed a couple... I know there was black raspberry. We've been putting it in homemade ice cream and it's pretty

The black raspberry sounds really good too. I haven't had that kind either. I got a few red raspberries this year, but I ate them as they ripened. I didn't even share any with DH. I did share a few of the peas with him, but I hogged most of them too.

I felt like the little red hen this year.

I had actually never heard of black rasperries before we moved to the Midwest... Now there's no going back.

They taste like blackberries, but sweeter and the flavor is deeper. And they smell better. The only thing better is huckleberries, and don't get me started on those.

I do love huckleberries. I am just not up to getting out far enough in the woods to get them any more. I also like currents, but it's been years since I have known a place to get them from. I should plant a few bushes of them, and maybe some blueberries. I would also love to have some Aronia berries. I just don't know how well they would grow here.

We were driving through Montana once and everywhere you looked, people were selling huckleberries. At least, I think it was Montana.... My brain isn't doing too well, as Shelby is trying to talk me into watching a Twilight movie with her.

I may have to take a walk to escape... Twilight is a scary thing. And this time I won't wave.

I have black raspberries here that my great-grandmother planted. Of course right now they decided to come up in the middle of a pile of recycled cyclone fence, but when they're easier to get to they're downright tasty.

My personal experience. i have top to keep out hawks and owls....but mostly to keep out wild song birds as they carry diseases, mites and lice. I have been hit a few times with Cocci. Lost quite a few birds last year too. My main run is now tweety bird proof. The other two runs are 95-97% wild bird free I don't think CL puts tops on hers....but she does have protection at the top to keep out racoons and other vermin.

I just did something like that. Not sure you'd call it leisurely. I went from Yakima, WA to Plymouth WI and back in 6 days. I saw Yellowstone, Black Hills of SD, The Badlands in SD, a few other places that have no significance to anyone else but me -- oh.. and I stopped at the Battle of the Little Bighorn (Custer's last stand).

It was -- therapeutic.
