OMG!

Will you have enough fire power if one goes to your property and poses a threat?
Lots of animals are going hungry because of the freak weather pattern.

Somebody saw a big black bear go into my backyard creek 2 weeks ago in the middle of the afternoon...crossing a street!
That creek is only 100 feet from my ducks.

... and alls i have are some left over fire works. Small stuff.
Maybe i'll get a roman candle from the indian reservation the next time I head north.

I have an arsenal here that you would not believe..long guns, 300 H&H mags, 30.06, 30.30, :lol:hand guns, of all sorts, shot guns, you just name it !
One of the reasons some one has to stay here & guard the place.
You think I am here guarding the chickens ????
NOPE>

And all I got is a BB gun and some sparkles. LOL

Then my neighbour tells me there is a bear in my backyard and some one else says there is a big cat sighting.
I was only planning to scare off a smallish coon, and a few dogs.

Sounds to me like you are not ever going to catch up on that rest you needed !!!
Hurry!
You have ONE DAY to rest!!!
lol.png

Good night all~

rest ?? rest ??!!??

nope

changing beds (airing bedding), vacuuming up after dog and cats, moving piles of "stuff" into temporary storage, getting our personal stuff out of the "public" areas of the motorhome, moving piles of lumber, putting tarps over miscellaneous stuff stored in the woodshed, mowing the lawn (maybe ? if I can get the beast started), scrubbing toilets, tub, and shower (DH did the kitchen floor, counters, sink, and stove), trying to get spots of who-knows-what out of the carpet that had been concealed by boxes of books on the floor

oh yes, and scooping the coop, putting fresh grass in the run, moving the ladders back towards the hangar, disguising the TVs and old monitors that were waiting to go to the special electronics recycle day, finding a bunch of empty beer cans that DS left behind ...

Is it time to plant beets yet???
cool.png

It is so darn cold my spinach is still going and the giant pumpkin is only the size of my fist! It will never make it past 10 lbs again.

Anybody planting anything? A third crop of lettuce??

Rocket?

Can you believe it if I fessed up that my heater is still going from fall of 2009?

I was so spoiled from a week of sun in Maui that I am begining to think it is time to move south with the birds.

There is a sun out there somewhere...I saw it...I did.

I adore your Icelandics!!! I was planning on getting some eggs from "The Warden" (the user that started the Icelandic chicken tread) the next time we have a broody hen. I love their crests!

So pretty!

Maui sounds good...not that I've ever been there.

The weather here in Germany has been WORSE than the weather in Seattle. Seriously...the last few days have been like May/June were there. Hmph.

I have finally cured myself of hating local snakes- I realize what allies they are against slugs, especially. I have transferred the feeling to snakes that don't live here, especially water moccasins and Gabon vipers.

That's what I was afraid of: I've had those come up where we'd been feeding produce house waste (we used to get boxes of stuff when Charlie's Organics had an operation at Hawk's Prairie) and I've never ID'ed them properly. I thought they might be okra, but then we tried to grow okra and it's not at all the same. Definitely a mallow, though.
