We have been experiencing a missing bird now and then. Expected the culprit to be a coyote or coon.

My son woke me this early morning at 2:00 am to witness a Great Horned Owl in a grow out pen.

We have one know casualty, a double tufted, rumpless white araucana.

I would have prefered the loss to be on of the extra cockerels, but nooooooo........

The owl was a very impressive creature.

Mine was too late cause my kid was on the solar lights for 2 days ans I did not know to pump. Duh. 2 oz for 6 months and teh well dried up....plus there was the teeth thing too. haha

Oh my gosh I had more milk than I knew what to do with. Id take the milk to the hospital for my son and they finally said we really dont need anymore you have two shelfs of the freezer. So I started putting it in mine. They told me I could feed all the babys in the NICU unit with the milk I was getting.
I was built to nurse but not carry them for long.. But Im lucky to have two son's..
