Oh, bother: can't find another incubator (besides the Sportsman up the hill, which holds 45 eggs!) and Sylvia layed another egg today, so not I have seven to incubate.

Life, man, just full of stuff, in general.

It's warmed up since the rain stopped, but still too humid to paint the Wyandotte coop. Also this morning was the worst in a while for a bad reaction to my Metformin and I'm still dizzy and nauseated. I think I'm going to have to take one with lunch, which is hard to remember but may avoid the day-destroying side effects. So much better to be young and healthy.

Agnetha and Ani-Frid are pinking up around the combs and wattles, and need to be moved to the other coop. The unfinished one. So they can have a proper laying box and I'll have a chance to reach their future eggs: the hoop house is eight feet long!

She is as loud as my ameraucana was! Not bad out where I live though. I would take her but I don't have any room at the moment. Hopefully you find a good home for her!

Yes, I didn't realize a chicken could be so loud! She doesn't just talk; she DEMANDS attention! LOL Our Ameraucana's are quiet so far - here's hoping they stay that way

We had both pullets and cockerels that were tucking their head under their wings. I also have one chicken that will crawl under the others and stick her head under not only her wing - but other birds

I feed Scratch & Peck organic layer/grower/starter (right now we have both layer & starter out). I get it at the Seattle Farm Coop - which is down by the stadiums and they have great prices. http://seattlefarmcoop.com/

As
for scraps - they are picky but any noodles, cooked rice, and most fruit. I've not had as much luck with veggies except peas - but they love greens, especially carrot tops and raspberry leaves.

I leave food and water in the coop at night - but the only time they ever touch it is if it is rainy out (like today) and they hang out in the coop while they wait for the rain to lessen. The main reason I put it in the coop is to keep mice out.

OK so today I picked a large bowl of mators. I plan to can em. Well I start looking for my jars and rings. Nope gone. I did manage to find 11 new lids but fear dw may have given away the jars and rings. But the worst part. ....... I cant remember how to can em (after cooked). It's only been 2 years since I canned my first batch. Can N E of ya help Da Fat Kid out here. I hate to think of my mators goin to waste.

Been busy picking tomatoes today..... only about 5 gallons of cherry and another 5 plus gallons of yellow, yellow pear, brandywines, and a bunch more....
I tired now

My tomatoes aren't even ripe yet. One plant has yellow ones...the others are still all green.

I keep eyeballing the ad for chicks out in Port Orchard, but then reality sets in when I try to figure how to get out there (with toddler) and back in time to pick up kid #2. Probably more hassle than it's worth.

Most of my tomatoes are already on their second "harvest," (after their first huge load, it's time to grow a little more and flower/fruit more) but, the nice thing is that I still have loads of ripe ones to pick every day.

Of the nearly 40 varieties I have, I'm finally able to now narrow down my favorites.
