Fun canning!

my husband has been canning like crazy. He just made salsa last night and we did peaches last weekend. They look so pretty in their jars. He also has been playing around with pepper jelly's. We will be eating that stuff on EVERYthing!! it's yummo though...

I did pepper jelly a few years back and loved the stuff!

My husband has done canned Salmon this yr & plans to do more if the run ever picks back up again, need cooler weather for the fish to come farther up the rivers. I got tired of the jars of Salmon in my pantry so I made some Apple Butter in my crockpot & then canned it. Need to do more for family if I ever get in the mood again. It was simple & simple is always fun

Wow you get off cheap. Either of my rigs would cost about $150-$160.

Hopefully that will last a bit longer ... Normally I go about 2.5 weeks between tanks, but now that I am attending classes again, I'm tanking every 5 - 7 days

.... and gas station owners are crooks to still be charging extremely high rates!
When I moved to WA in January '93, gas was 97 cents per gallon - I could fill the same tank for under $20.

This sounds like me. We've just been SWAMPED since early August with multiple kids b-day parties, fair, camping, getting the house painted, dad visiting/leaving, aunt & uncle visiting/leaving, school starting, volleyball practice pickups EVERYDAY (I have to drive from Monroe down to Carnation...it's at least an hour round trip!) and now Dad is back in town and flies out Wednesday.

WHEW!

Very hot/muggy here too with hardly any rain to speak of these last few days. Got all the decks stained, now just have to do 2 1/2 sets of deck stairs.

And I joined the club and made a Facebook Page for our poultry projects and would love some likes if you would all be so kind! Hopefully next week I'll have more time to add photo's and stuff to it. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Storybook-Poultry/254182771292997

I think maybe a Striped whipsnake , and probably a juvenile. The Burke Museum is as good a reference on Washington herps as exists online, which is, alas, not saying much.

We had a rubber boa on our patio 2 yrs ago we had been in this area many yrs and this was a first for us. don't like rattlers or course but every thing else is okay, some of the BIG gofer snakes ( we call them bull snakes here) can get pretty onery but then again you usually won't have the rattlers if they are around.
