I know that most people like being able to walk in to their coops (my cousin's is a walk-in that is attatched to the back wall of the stable) but since I'm mostly housing small breeding groups I prefer to just have things safely up off the ground so I don't have to lean over to feed, clean, or collect eggs.

Stumpfarmer, could you show a picture of one of your coop that you have constructed using the dementions you described?
I'm totaly visual

learner.

Not built yet, just lumber cut. It (or rather *they* because I'm building two, one for the Hoop House) is the next thing after I finish the dratted Wyandotte accomodations- which we got started on and then it was time for lunch (as an insulin dependant diabetic, time for lunch is a big deal).

Assuming I have any brain left at the end of this day, I'll find my graph paper and make a sketch: I need to, anyway, I may have someone helping me with this who doesn't speak hand gestures.

Huh, she should be home- I didn't get a call-back on something yesterday, either, their voicemail may be screwed up.

Except I just realized I don't have a phone at the moment... OK, she sys there was one number she called and called and called and no answer, so call her?

I had no messages, and a full tower...hmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe she did not get my # right.
I will call her again.
Thanks

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!

I hope I'm not bombarding you all too much with photos. But this is why I joined - so I could share my chicken love with people who (hopefully) don't think I'm a "nutso chicken lady"

Picking up eggs is almost as fun. My co-workers thought I was nuts when I told them I had eggs mailed to me...had to pick the eggs up at the post office. Fun- fun-fun.

We live in a very small town (700) and when my eggs were delivered this spring the sender had written LIVE OVUMS in red all over it. I had some tall explaining to do for that one.

live ovums.. that's funny!
