I am blaming eenie for hiding the hose for my aquarium. I'm sure that if she was here that she would have done it, just so that she could giggle at me.

Nice sunny day; these are some of my cousin's chickens, including the blue Ameraucana from CL, working the ground up under the King trees, being observed by one of this years calves and one of the red cows.

Ari and I hung out with the chickens for a while today, trying to hold each one and see how they reacted.

Does not want to have anything to do with me: the Wyandotte. I couldn't even catch her in the tiny run (not that I was trying super hard). Feh.

Marginally better, but still freak out a bit at being held: the Australorp, Buckeye

and the lighter of the two EEs.

Surprisingly improved since moving to the coop: the Sussex. She is definitely more tolerant than she was.

Starting to follow us around: the Delaware.

Generally cooperative: everyone else.

We were there as dusk was starting, and it was interesting. A few of the chickens climbed the ladder and settled right in the coop doorway. Others stared up at them, like they didn't know what to do. A couple repeatedly went up and down. One went to the run corner (where they'd been sleeping) but looked confused. I left the flashlight in the coop and will head back out in a bit to see if that inspired anyone. LOL

I just looked at them a couple days ago....almost $80 at Ace Hardware.

My DH buys a roll of house wire, and cuts it to length, and adds the heavy duty plugs at both ends.
A roll of wire lasts a long time, and is not that much more spendy that a big heavy duty extension cord.

Hey guys!
I am back!!
For a wee bit anyhow.
I finally got my buck this morning..and have feild dressed & hung.
meanwhile had to gring the burger from DH's deer today, and got 30 pounds!! BEEEEEEEEEEEEutiful tender no gamey taste at all.
So that ground & wrapped and in the freezer.
Tomorrow I quarter my buck & start processing that

AFTER I SLEEP IN!!!!!!!!!
Then I have all coops to clean...the darn farm hand did not show up for 2 days!
Nor has the maid or laundry person shown up for 2 days!!!
So I have 2 days of dishes, 5 days of hunting clothes to wash............

And 2 chicks just hatched...and 14 eggs to set.

Also had 2 people stop by looking for meat chicks..and 2 stop by for layer chicks, so I am setting eggs after I said I wasn't going to do it again over winter....

Ugh!
Standing up from 10 AM until 10 PM cutting & wrapping is hell!!!!!!
But I did sneak off & I did get my mammo done

And it is all digital & I saw it and it looks good!!!!!!!!!

Yes I trained to read images while in Oral Surgery.
Boy-O am I tired................
