Our lawn quit growing weeks ago. Highs of 40 and nights in the teens. No more lawn mowing here. LOL.

We have had a dry day all day. I am still mowing lawns, thought they are slowing down most are covered in leaves that need picking up as well so I am still on a regular schedule. I pick them up with the mower. I will be mowing until at least the end of November. Our days are still around 50 and we have only had a few nights of frost. I don't mind. The longer I mow the longer I have income. Winter can be hard to get through financially.

I just went through all of the Serama pullets for sale on the 8 weeks and older section. And there is exactly ONE that is worth the price the auction is at right now. That is "Bonnie" on page 3, she's a chocolate pullet.

Some of the other are pretty, and have nice type, but like the one that I think you are asking about, if you look closely, she has VERY dark, almost black legs. Seramas should have yellow legs. The dark legs are extremely hard to breed out. Even if you have one with mostly yellow legs, with a little bit of black at the top (called "swarthy" legs) they really like to throw that to their offspring. I even have a pullet with yellow legs that throws swarthy legs to some of her offspring. If you want some really nice birds, see ZooMummzy on here, you can search the threads for "Castle Delight Seramas" there are a couple of threads up talking about her birds.

I can also bring you some hatching eggs to Chehalis if you are going to be there....here are my 2 breeding pens:

Voltron and Anthea (this is the pullet that throws swarthy legs sometimes):

Heydee Ho! sounds like you're well into the chicken raising thing!

Was it raining in PA today, or did the Rain Shadow visit you?

*needs a good devil smilie* Give your kids the choice, they can either work on their homework, or spend time with you - going grocery shopping, home depot, etc. anywhere loud and crowded. *needs another devil smilie*

Be specific on the time of things. If you use past tense, it can be taken to mean at any time in the past.

Translations:
Yes I did my homework, ...

Yes, last week I finished the homework assigned last week

Yup, I cleaned my room, took a shower and turned in my dirty laundry.

I did all that last week too.

The next time she uses "never" mention something that proves it wrong, like, "Your teacher, Mrs. Stone, told me at the teacher conference a month ago, that she had given you one."

Edited to add: You are different from your kids. You have only seen the grown up version and have no experience with how he got there. I would think that you would have to work twice as hard and be twice as frustrated to raise your kids the way they are, than if they were just like you. (I hope that made sense)
