I hope that you already have your answer...but just in case:

....... there is a show in Chehalis the first weekend of December and many BYCers will be there (me if the weather holds out) and I believe they are having a potluck. We usually set up our own table (Washintonian) and all meet/greet/and eat.

oh...btw:

in case I missed it earlier.

I'll bet your Dad's huckleberry wine was good! Our customers make wine from everything, besides grapes. Lots of folks buying supplies for apple wine, hard apple cider, pear wine, blackberry, cherry, huckleberry, strawberry, rhubarb. One older lady makes dandelion wine every year and has entered in the fair. We've even had some tomato wine makers and onion wine makers. They use the onion infused wine for cooking... I'd love to try some of that one day, but I don't think I want to make it. The shop smells so good right now with big fermenting buckets full of crushed grapes that are getting juicier every day. On Monday and Tuesday this week we'll be pressing those grapes to get all the beautiful, garnet colored juice out of them, leaving us with some really nice grape skin cakes. Those can be used to make grappa if you have a still, (you know, to make "fuel) or they are wonderful just to spread in your garden.

Let me know if you have extra skins. I would love to spread them in the garden, though grape skin cakes sounds like a very interesting thing. I will try just about anything once.
I would rather have garlic wine to cook with. I think that the idea of using it to cook scallops sounds very very tasty.

I don't remember all the recipe...but my opinion....don't do anything fancy. You are a family not a 3**** restaurant. Do something yummy. Salad. French bread, nice bottle of wine. Keep it simple.

There is a recipe that I can't remember all but of it..maybe someone else can pipe in and finish it off:
Chicken breast (uncooked)
Slice of ham (optional)on top of chicken breast
slice of swiss cheese on top.
(here is what I don't remember - the sauce) cream of whatever soup and creamcheese (I think)...don't remember what I was told.
Soften butter mix with a stuffing mix.
Stuffing over chicken/chez/sauce
Cook. Yummy.

That sounds like a version of Chicken Cordon Blue.

I think it was meant to be a 1 pot type version. Very yummy.

Ah, but they are just protein, like meat!

I saw a really cool ad once, where they had a pizza topped with grasshoppers, and pasta with some kind of blue beetle.

I guess it's just what you get used to. Me, I can't eat snails. But I love lobster (nasty, ugly scavenger of the sea!)

What is the young man's name? Is it by chance Nathan? He is a really good kid (from what short time I Have known him)...PM me if you would like, I met a couple of the other kids in the poultry barn this year....oh, is it one of the Colbert boys? Nice kids too. My middle DS swims against the middle boy. I am just curious.

Yup!
smile.png
He got the roo! Seems like a really nice boy. I think he'll take good care of the roo...his mom gave me some home made salsa and huckleberry jelly as a trade.

Nathan? Nice kid. He has Du'cclox (gosh can't remember how to spell). He wants to get into some serious showing. Your roo will be taken care of and yes, he will probably have it at the fair next year. LOL.....

I know that the other boy...can't remember his first name but last name is Colbert...good boys too. He had a sumatra at one time. I had asked him if he had got the bird from you, but he had not.

So hey, sounds like you got some goodies too.
