and yes there is definitely snow in Whistler Village in Canada; the Whistler ski area opened (limited runs) yesterday, and all the crazies are dragging snowboards around
we had a great trip, some water on the roadway but only ONE short stretch with slush and slipperiness ... the side roads are mostly compact snow, easier to drive on than I thought
all my experience driving in snow has been rear-wheel drive or 4WD ... had not driven a front-wheel drive car in snow before, but the Yaris behaved .. of course I was driving as if I were driving an ambulance with a nervous patient on board ....
haven't gotten an update from DS as to how the chickens are handling the weather, but they're pretty tough and resilient EEs .. and our weather should be very similar to Stumpfarmer's, so I'm not excessively worried
as far as I know, we'll be at Chehalis -- if anyone needs to have dog carriers there, let me know, we have some extras that could be used
