and yes there is definitely snow in Whistler Village in Canada; the Whistler ski area opened (limited runs) yesterday, and all the crazies are dragging snowboards around

we had a great trip, some water on the roadway but only ONE short stretch with slush and slipperiness ... the side roads are mostly compact snow, easier to drive on than I thought

all my experience driving in snow has been rear-wheel drive or 4WD ... had not driven a front-wheel drive car in snow before, but the Yaris behaved .. of course I was driving as if I were driving an ambulance with a nervous patient on board ....

haven't gotten an update from DS as to how the chickens are handling the weather, but they're pretty tough and resilient EEs .. and our weather should be very similar to Stumpfarmer's, so I'm not excessively worried

as far as I know, we'll be at Chehalis -- if anyone needs to have dog carriers there, let me know, we have some extras that could be used

Yes and it is also interesting that I happen to knowa couple others in WFF who are not on ground level. And they want some of my work.

Well, DH and I have made significant progress on finishing the Wyandotte run; I'm hoping we can get to the point of cleaning the floor of the coop and dumping in some bedding (wood pellets this first time, neither of us can move the sand) and grabbing Ian and Sylvia and putting them in tonight- that is, most of the fence finished and the feeders and waterers put up. I dunno, it may not be until tomorrow. I don't want to have to move the chicken-tractor again is all, the wood is wet and it weighs a ton, and I'd like to get the plastic off and set it up somewhere to dry off.

Depends on how effective this bit of a sit-down is going to be. And whether I need a snack. Maybe I'll just go out and use the last bit of helical wire to attach chickenwire to yard wire so then I can attach the corners to the frame with screws and fender washers.

I wish whoever took my carefully collected bunch of carriage bolts and nuts and put them somewhere safe would remind me what the definition of "safe" was that time, as I need to attach the kennel panel to the corner post with something less vulnerable to weather and friction than honking big bungee cords. I buy good fasteners at garage sales, but somehow the carriage bolts always go away before I can use them.
