DH saw a commercial on TV for a deep fryer. It was Bass Pro, and they were selling a 30qt fryer for 39.99. Even with shipping it was cheaper than anything I have found in town so far. I ordered immediately, and we are waiting for it. We have a rooster that is going to be our test bird. He shouldn't take long to cook.

Is that an electric or propane? I have each and while I haven't used my elec I have used others and much prefer the electric to propane. Easier to use and much safer. My propane one is now just used for seafood.

Now that I'm over the giddy relief at getting Ian and Sylvia into their (dry, windproof, clean) new home and never having to hump the chicken tractor again, I must note that it is absolutely necessary to move the chicken tractor again so that I have an unobstructed (sort of, excluding a monster rose and its trellising and the household ladder out there for pruning purposes) view of the Hamburgs, and also to get it somewhere I can get to all four corners and strip off the filthy plastic.

So, since it's not currently pouring down rain I shall probably need to get right on that, right?

Since I've been out of bed for all of an hour now. Second time today: I was up at 4am taking Ibuprofen for shoulder and hip pain so I could go back to sleep, after first taking Ranitidine so I could take Ibuprofen without hurting my stomach and then sitting up for an hour to be sure.

We got a propane fryer. It came today. DH has it almost completely put together. We can't use it until tomorrow. We are heading to our DD's for dinner tonight, so TTFN .

Well its finally apparent why my Black Runner doesn't lay eggs....
Its a BOY!!!! It finally feathered out enough to have its curlyQ tail feathers...so now I have 3 males and no females!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This posting is for 4cats3kids1hubby2many or anyone else who lives in (or near?) Omak. There is a band called The Paperboys that I saw at the Sisters Folk Festival a number of years ago. Really fun group - sounds a bit like the Eagles. Anyway, they have a song called "Omak Hotel" and I was curious to know if (A) anyone had seen the Paperboys when they were there and (B) if the hotel is really as described.

DW says that my egg production is not meeting her current egg demand. So, anyone have hens/pullets/POL girls available? DW prefers Wyandotte's. We will be at the show for sure on Saturday and may or may not stay over.
