Spoke to hubby last night - I asked him - "Remember when you wanted that fancy sports car" and he said "Yes". Then I said "And remember when you wanted the boat, and the truck to pull it" and he said "Yes". And then I said "Did I complain or anything or tell you that you couldn't have them?" and he said "No, so, what do you want then". and I said, "Nothing really, unless I see something special at the show on Saturday"

Stink eye is out of the question in our house

(Of course, he may faint when he sees the prices)

That is great preparation! Very clever.

<----- New Girl! Hi....I am trying to connect up with people who are raising chickens in thier yards around Spokane, WA. I grew up on a "farm" and raised chickens as a kid - am coming full circle! I have a coop, all the fixings.....just need some chicks!

Are there any locals with big, cold hardy breeds in the area that sell chicks? I am interested in Marans, Australorps, Chanteclers, or Wynadottes (LOVE these).

How about peanut butter fudge? I was trying to think of something to bring tomorrow and all those photos of the pretty new boy that's going to be living with CR might have inspired me. I can't have him but I can make something in homage to him! Does anyone have any peanut allergies?

about four of my girls are 16-19 months a few are around 12 months but most (10) are 8 months old. I picked good winter layers, like Sussexs, sexlinks, welsummers , austra whites.

I shoulda kept those whites and given you my EE duds! Only my BR and one of my old EE's is laying now, the one who was broody for 6 months, so she is making up for los time. She lays an egg every day for at least three weeks, skips a day and then another 3 weeks.... Last year all my hens layed through the winter without added heat or lights. The old EE's started laying at 19 weeks. My new ones are 8 months and no eggs! I got the old EE's from My PetChicken. The new ones at the Issaquah Grange, so I think they are Privett. The new ones are meatier looking and shaped just like the 2 Blue Americaunas I got from CL - they also are not laying!!! All the dud chickens hang out together in the day time. At night they are joined on their roost by the 2 barred rock.

Ogress
My EE laid about 10-12 eggs then Stopped. hasn't laid one since Oct 18th

if she don't start in the spring she is gone the austra whites are laying about 4-5 out of 7 days.
