That would be a very good purpose then if someone had the room to grow a few out and the equipment to process their birds. That's not in my immediate future. Seeing those capons at the show yesterday I could see how they could be some good eatin' though!

Anyone interested in a nice BLRW just under a year old? Free to any BYC'r. If not he goes on Craig's list, and if no interest there, then it's into "Coq Au Vin" (I'm changing direction with my birds)

Here he is about 6 months old - very nice tempered and good with the ladies

I also have a couple of "White Laced Red" Cornish cockerels, and one pullet (6 months and one week old - Hatchery birds) for sale - $5 each (sorry no pics)

Your moms words are very wise. I always made my kids take at least one bite of everything even if they already tried it before knowing they could eventually develop a taste for it and like it. Sometimes it takes more than once.

I have to say since moving to WA I have had a hard time with oysters, clams and salmon. I keep sampling them though hoping eventually I will see what everyone else sees in them. I even tried Chickys smoked oysters since I've never tried them smoked. Still not liking them but Chickys were the best so far.

Just wanted to POP in and say how great it was to see everybody on Saturday at the show!!! It's so nice to put faces with the BYC names.
My DH couldn't believe that I came home without any new birds!
I have been running my tooshie off this weekend and haven't been on my comp. much but I hope everyone made it home safe!

OGRESS!!!! I absolutely love the bracelet and earrings!!!! They are gorgeous and I will cherish them! Oh and my DD is eyeing them, too!

It was so soooo sweet and thoughtful of you to think of me! Big hugs to ya!!!!!

The old book was fun to look through. It was interesting to read about "Capons as foster mothers".

Can you believe that mess? It'll be about a ten minute job all told, and most of that cutting the twiggy stuff back so it doesn't have to be pulled through the rest of the tree.

I'm surprised I didn't have a pair of loppers and some nice bypass pruners in the trunk; I wonder where they went? We keep them there so we can clean up around our house number, which often gets obscured by aspen and blackberries.
