Those birds are out of condition, but that white hen is a nice bird I pulled straight from a breeding pen and the cockerel was one of my top picks this season. I didn't keep any white cockerels this year because I have so many white cocks right now. He has a perfect comb and a lot of good traits. He will fill out more and become broader as he finishes out. I expect him to look like the white cocks I had in the show. Again, you guys have ANY questions and feel free to give me a ring. When you're getting ready for a show I will share all my 'secrets' (nothing secret about them) I use to get my white birds whiter.

I am so glad I was able to help you guys out. I highly encourage your daughter to prepare for and consider showing at the Stevenson show in the Spring in the Junior class. If she hasn't already joined 4-H that is a KEY thing to do,... and consider showmanship.

I saw a kid walk away from the food area with a big plate of baklava, and I thought what?? - but then realized he was with someone there - not sure who. Maybe it was the one who was supposed to only have two snacks?

So, the fellow who was upset has been a vendor at this show for years, and, a member of the club/ participant for as long as the show has been going. So, when a new vendor comes in and, die to communication errors, didn't have a pre-assigned vendor space and gets a spot right by the door while the long-time vendor is on the back wall between the restrooms... well, that's why there were some questions asked. There were no curse words, no yelling. Really. I don't understand why this stuff ends up on here?

If that's the long-time vendor I'm thinking of...is he going to be at Monroe, do you think? I need to save my dimes (the quarters are spoken for) to be able to buy several items in his stock. I'll probably have to sell off a few of my books (I've got a bunch of mediaeval history ones I'm very over) to make room, too.

It's possible I need to get independantly wealthy between now and then.

There were two vendors there selling books even though it looked like one long vendor table. They are both bug supporters of the hobby that have been in it for ages.

There were some books there that were just wonderful! Much better than some of the modern books on waterfowl, for certain.

Edited to say.... Big supporters. Not bug supporters- didn't check anything that didn't have feathers for lice!

I have a son of this drake and he is currently solid black (he's young) and just AWESOME. He is eye candy and I adore him. I'm imagining all the mutant-size babies he will hopefully produce and how delicious the culls will be (mmmmmmmmmmmm!!)

It was very fun seeing everyone yesterday. I know I didn't get to say hi or bye to a lot of people, but it was really nice.

I don't know you, so you might think of me as a stranger, but I'm legit. I brought the HUGE box of silverware. When people asked em about the food, I told them to go ask Robin or Rob. Hope most were polite enough to ask.

I'll have to try my Del's again- it wasn't there the last time I was there in person (the whole shelf was empty) and sending my DH (who works pretty much next door) for something new, different, and unusual is not my idea of a good time. It took three phone calls for him to get a bale of hay.
