Glad you liked them - I will let Olivia know, that is her faorite brand (at our local QFC they are in the bakery section in a little cooler - Olivia thinks they taste better than the other brands. They make blueberry muffins too! (and they look like real muffins!)

Yup they are awesome!
I need a AM roo to breed to my brown/green/olive/white egg layers.... so the roo needs the BLUE gene
big_smile.png

Then keep one of the blacks, the less green sheeny one..he will be a split from the Blue Wheatens I had.
What I would have done is had an Icelandic cockeral to breed those girls.
ALL HELL would break loose && you'd have some great stuff going on!!!

We went to the metal 'dump' in Elma a few weeks ago to drop off some metal DH had collected, and watched a few guys in a PU come in behind us with an entire PU load of mailboxes.
I had to laugh, they all had addresses still on them!
Somewhere they stole all those mailboxes & turned them in for scrap metal.

I hope the recycler won't accept suspicious loads like that! A couple years ago, just before soccer season, someone made off with all the soccer goals in North Bend. Dirtbags desparate for meth money.

I haul a lot of scrap metal. I will not touch anything that is not right or looks suspiscious (sp) but sadly since it is all about money the scrap buyers will take just about anything. Especially steel as long as you have paper work they will even take ANY kind of car. If ya don't get a $1000 ticket trying to get it there.

my other half is a detective. we also haul scrap and take in cars, he works very closely with the scrap yard here and they do their best to watch for stolen stuff. they have video cams, ID is required, no longer pay cash on lots of high dollar items. they will mail you a check. a car must have proper paperwork period. my DH helps people with the proper paper trail to get a car scrapped. just recently some tweakers stole a big brass bell from the church, cut it up and ground off most of the inscription on it. the scrap yard ID' them, took the bell and set it aside for DH to see. he did his best to put it back together and did a report on it and sent out pics and helped the Monroe PD identify it and the thieves and they were arrested with help from the scrap yard. they have a list of known tweakers and thieves that are banned from the scrap yard too, they work pretty hard to keep things above the law. I cant say this is how it is for every steel scrapper but the ones up here are getting pretty good about the bad guys and getting them busted.

Okay, I promised pictures the other day...finaly getting them on here:
Quincy, Ellen, and Che':

The "layers" checking on the new guys. DH had let them out and I didn't know it:

Okay: So here is the coop...it is not finished. It is insulated .... but I have not finished the inside details (ie, roost and poop trays). The front is 2 doors that I am going to eventually put on hinges...(when it is finished) - right now they fit on tight on "bolts". The poop door was WAY too tiny...we had to double the size of it so they would fit in:

So this is the new kids in their new home. Seem to be doing okay.

That is good to know. When the house across the street was being built, it was broken into many times and all the copper pipe was stolen. I tried to set up a video camera on it at night, but the auto-focus kept trying to focus on the rain drops, so they never were caught.

Down here for steel they want ID but they don't even look at what ya toss in the pile. Even non-ferrous they don't look at real well. Just that if ya have more than $30 in non-ferous they pay the first $30 and send the rest in 10 days as per state law. Now cars is a different story. If you have a signed title or abandoned vehicle slip from the SO they will take it. But if you are caught (by law enforcement) hauling a car in and Don't have the owner with you or have the title in your name or a hulk haulers lic it is $1000 fine.

State Patrol are pretty hard core about all that stuff. and if you bring in more than one or two cars a year you are considered a business and have to have the hulk hauler permit. DH knows more about the paper required than I do, he signs off on abandoned or titleless cars for people, but they all get checked for stolen before the paper can be signed. and you would be surprised at how close they look at your pile after you leave lol, thats how most of them get busted. they took the church bell then set it aside for DH to look at. copper pipe out of a house is hard for them to prove where it came from. they just recently got some new construction ductile iron and valves etc, so they let the cops know and they got busted while out trying to steal some more.
