I'm in NE Vancouver WA/Sifton neighborhood. I know there's other chicken keepers in my neighborhood because I can hear their girls at times during the day. I love it!! It's so cool to live in a suburb and be able to have chickens. I've even heard a rooster nearby, I wish I could sneak one in but I better not

They're not any worse than a barking dog though in my opinion, I actually enjoy hearing a rooster as opposed to a barking dog lol.

She's 12 and so far it doesn't bother her... we'll have to wait and see if her upcoming hormones make her change her mind!

My aunt in Germany spells her name Emalie, and she went by Miela

I am new to BYC and wanted to introduce myself. My Name is Suril and I currently have 5 black and blue Orpingtons I bought from a local breeder here in eastern Washington. I have four kids, 3 boys and 1 girl. I have one dear husband Tim. We have wanted chickens for a few years now. We finally found some property to make that a reality. I have been lurking on BYC for a few months. I finally had to join to contact a breeder that is in Washington to get lavender and jubilee Orpingtons. Looking forward to spring and hatching my own chicks.

Also, to be absolutely sure that Fudge is the daddy and not the bantam roo, you want to wait 3 weeks from the time you switched them out.

Oh, and if the Silkie is broody, I'd give them to her...then you're not stuck brooding chicks yourself, she'll do ALL the work for ya!!
