We all need something to look forward to; right now I'm mostly looking forward to not having both rat traps full every morning.

Other than that: my DH is going to drive to Ellensburg Friday night, probably pretty late, sleep over while the younger Mr. R. works his graveyard shift, and then they'll drive home early. This will probably reshape our Christmas Eve plans pretty drastically in unpredictable ways. And I do not much like unpredictability- it's right up there with shingles and property tax reappraisals.

Teleportation would make everything so much easier. Including emptying rat traps

CR! That is just not true! I am sorry I didn't mention it before - I just got busy and the day arrived before I realized it. I would have loved to see CGG attend as well as any of my other chicken friends!
I plan to have another Open House and food drive to celebrate Grandpa Aquino's birthday. He would have been 131 in May 2012.

I'll let everyone know next time I promise!

Easy I was just joking. I thought it would be pretty clear by the smilies. I am sorry and to CGG I also apollogize if I hurt your feelings too.

No, it's fine! I think we all know you well enough to know you were just joking.

I was laughing - guess I just forgot to include my emoticon so you would know I knew you were joking! No one's feelings were hurt.

Not to worry! No need to apologize. I got the joke. I'm pretty sure Sadie got it too. If you DIDN'T joke about something I would think something was wrong. I actually was going to joke back about 'Da fat girl' but decided not to!

Yep!

Your Grandpa is just a pipsqueak.

My Great-grandma would have been 150 this coming June 2012th. Some of the family has been thinking about getting together and having coffee in Choteau MT this summer.

Okay now I am avoiding the things I should be doing. I need to clean the chicks pen and get the silk bouquets made, and set up out on the highway. If I wait any longer on the bouquets, I may as well just make spring bouquets.

Does anyone have springtime silk flowers, that I can get cheap or free? They don't need to be in the best condition. I am using them to create seasonal arrangements for a road side memorial for Officer Wrysh. He was kill on Hwy 410 by a drug addict nearly 5 years ago. I still miss him, and I know his wife and boys do too. If anyone has some, I can either pick the flowers up or I will pay for postage.

Everyone has to decide what they need to do in raising poultry. I also rely on eggs for feed money, so I cull "SOME" older hens each year, and raise some new pullets to replace them. This way, as the hens molt, the new pullets are coming into lay so even though I get less eggs, I still get some. Don't feel bad about your decision CR, if it's the right one for you.

On sit-down for a bit. I managed to get more than six hours of sleep last night, which is better than my ten day running average but not enough that I don't feel as if sleeping through the whole day would be a very nice change.

A pretty day to sleep-walk through, though, to say the least. Chilly, but not cold, and that lovely pearl toned light that doesn't seem to happen anywhere south of 47N nor in the interior- the low light angle, and reflection from the ocean, is a big part of it.

I've got about a minute before I have to stand up and take care of the EE chickies, and then go out and set traps and shut up coops and move the sheep into his overnight accomodations.
