Egg production is starting to pick up - 6 yesterday and 4 today. One of my Barnie's is back on line as is Luna the light Sussex and I even got an egg from Chirp my New Hampshire who is deep in a molt right now. I also got a second blue egg today, it might be from those EE's, or it might be from on tof the Blue Ameracauna's I got from CL!

I still have a lot of molting birds; one of my cuckoo marans looks like a naked neck, and one of my Lavender orps looks like a zmobie bride with her tattered loose feathers.

I'm very good at getting you to quit procrastinating, I've noticed.

I should have called you, but DH is here and got me on the straight and narrow. I finally got the seasonal flowers done and installed.

I have also managed to cook dinner and clean out the chicks crate. It needed it.

The little chicks are growing fast, and Tulay are doing very well.

I have a question I had 4 Silkie chicks that are yellow fluffy balls. If I was guessing I would assume that they are Buff Silkies. But I didn't buy any buff Silkie eggs. The question is are white Silkies yellow as chicks?
hu.gif
They should be white or splash chicks. I must admit that I don't want any buff Silkies. I really want Porcelain or Lavender, but blues or white or splash would work also.

Good for him.

I've noticed he's good at cracking the whip.

Tell him welcome back to Washington, and is he ready to head back to Hawaii ASAP?

He is SO cute!!! One of my girl friends has a porcupine once. She raised it from birth. It's mother had been run over, and the driver checked the mom and realized that the baby was still alive. So they did a C-Section and save it. My girlfriend became a surrogate mom to her. It was one of the sweetest animals I have ever met. It isn't easy cuddling a porcupine, but they do seem to enjoy it.

I think that I am the only one here that would like to be in Hawaii. DH is a home body, so he is happier here than he is working in Hawaii. I would rather be someplace warm, than here in the cold damp. He does help out a lot around here when he is home. Sometimes it is help, and sometimes it is a hassle trying to figure out where things are. He often puts things away in different places, than I do. lol

And he makes you feed him at regular intervals, right?

There is that too.

It can be a real pain to have to cook everyday. He has learned to get his own breakfast, and lunch. But I still make dinner. I suppose it isn't to bad to be able to eat at least one nice meal a day.

Hi, Washingtonians! I started following this thread a little while ago when I thought I'd be moving to WA. Jury's still out on whether that's going to happen, but hope you'll let me join in.
To answer your silkie question, my experience is that the yellow fluffy balls turn into white silkies. The white-ish fluffy balls turn into splash silkies. And of course the black are black and gray-ish become blue. I've never seen a porcelain or lavender, so don't know what they look like as chicks. But expect that the yellows will go white - at least, that's what ours did.
Hope that helps -
